TOWN OF JEFFERSON - First responders gave aid at the scene on County S at Norton Road south of Juda in the Town of Jefferson. According to the Green County Sheriff’s Department, at 12:22 p.m. on Aug. 31, dispatch was notified of a traffic accident in the N1500 block of County S for a vehicle versus tractor crash with injuries. 

The investigation found that the driver of the vehicle involved, Zayne D. Mills, 21, of Davis, was traveling northbound and attempted to pass a tractor operated by Jasper W. Werren, 15, of Monroe, as Jasper began turning westbound onto Norton Road, causing a collision. 

Zayne Mills and passenger, Makenzie R. Mills, 18, Davis, advised they were wearing seatbelts. Makenzie Mills was later transported to the hospital for suspected non-life-threatening injuries. Werren was uninjured. 

Mills’ vehicle sustained disabling damage, with no airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene. The tractor was repaired and later removed from the scene. 

The investigation resulted in Zayne Mills being cited for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Mackenzie Mills being cited for Underage Possession of Alcohol. Both parties were released pending court.
