MONROE - The Green County Fair Association will be distributing 20 shares of stock through a public drawing to be held on the first Wednesday in July each year until there are only 25 unissued shares left.

Members who are already in possession of a share are not eligible to participate in the drawing. Except for shares sold by individuals, all shares will be issued through the annual drawing.

Individuals interested in obtaining a share will need to register at the fair office:

• between 9:30 and 11 a.m., Saturday, June 5

• between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m., Friday, June 11

• or between 10 a.m. and noon, Saturday, June 12

People must be 18 years old to register.

Participants whose names are drawn will be notified and will have five business days to pay for their share. Joyce Binder, fair secretary, will assist individuals who wish to register for a share. Binder said people need to be aware that any shares purchased or transferred after November 2006 are no longer eligible for a stockholder pass to the fair.

A share of stock is sold for $40 and will never be worth more than $40.
