MONROE - Cheese made by Emmi Roth at its Monroe facility swept the Open Class at last week's U.S. Cheese Championship in Green Bay.
Team Emmi Roth USA swept the category with its Smear Ripened Hard Cheeses: Roth Grand Cru Reserve took first place with a score of 99.35. Roth Private Reserve took second with a score of 99.30, and Roth Grand Cru Original took third with a score of 99.20.
In the Havarti class, Team Emmi Roth USA scored 99.15 for Best of Class with its Roth Whole Milk Havarti.
In the Blue Veined Class, the team took second place, with a score of 98.45, for its Roth Buttermilk Blue.
