MONROE - The winners were announced for area municipal and school elections.

- In New Glarus, president Jim Salter ran unopposed and won 667 votes. There were four people running for three seats as village trustee. Winners include Roger J. Truttmann, with 538 votes, Peggy A. Kruse, with 523 votes; and Henry Janisch with 521 votes. Terms are for two years.

- For the New Glarus School District, three seats were open, with three candidates running. Jonathan M. Sheridan won with 893 votes, Duane Schober garnered 1157 votes; and Paul Eichelkraut won 1170 votes.

- In Monticello, current president Steven Graber ran unopposed. He received 284 votes. Four people ran for three village trustee seats. The winners include Laverne Crooks with 207 votes, Bob Goehring with 203 votes; and William Loveland with 197 votes. Terms are for two years.

- For the Monticello School District, incumbents Tina Zanow and Timothy W. Bruns ran unopposed. Zanow had 441 votes and Bruns garnered 530 votes.

- In Brodhead, newcomer Teresa Withee won a contested race for alderman in Ward 1, with 88 votes; John Bernstein ran unopposed and won 100 votes in Ward 2; and Hubert W. Vickers ran unopposed and received 90 votes. The alderman position is a two-year term.

- For the Juda School District, three people ran for two seats. Incumbent Patrick Daniels won with 226 votes and newcomer Jenny Brooks won with 224 votes.

- In Albany, president Larry A. Hanson ran unopposed and received 181 votes. Three people ran for three open seats as village trustee. Incumbents Wayne Stemple received 134 votes, Peggy Boeck received 149 votes and Kim A. Blumer received 178 votes. All seats are for two-year terms.

- For the Albany School Board, four people ran for three seats. Incumbents Rebecca Mather, Wayne Mueller and Jason Lindergren were elected.
