MONROE — This past week H. James has completed the sanitary sewer installation on 8 1/2 Street and 31st Avenue. H. James also started on the Storm Sewer installation in the high school lot near the baseball fields. They brought the storm sewer through the school property to the East side of 31st Avenue at 11th Street.

For the next week and a half, H. James will be completing the installation of the storm sewer for the first phase of the project on 31st Avenue from 11th Street to 8 1/2 Street. On Tuesday, Oct. 14, they will go back to 32nd Avenue to complete the installation of the new fire hydrants.

H. James has brought in a second crew and are starting to core out 32nd Avenue for the installation of new road base this week. The second crew will move over to 31st Avenue and 8 1/2 Street once the storm sewer crew is complete.

Currently, curb and gutter installation on 32nd Avenue, 8 1/2 Street, and 31st Avenue up to 11th Street is scheduled for Nov. 3. They are also planning to install sidewalk on 32nd Avenue from 6 1/2 Street to 81/2 Street while the curb crew is mobilized. The asphalt paving crew is scheduled for Nov. 17 to pave 32nd Avenue, 8 1/2 Street, and 31st Avenue up to 11th Street before shutting down for the season.
