MONROE — A 19-year-old Monroe man is facing multiple felony drug and weapons charges after an apparent, early-morning police raid at an address in the Monroe Estates trailer park last Friday.

The execution of a search warrant just after 5:30 a.m. in the 500 block of 21st Street by the multi-jurisdictional State Line Area Narcotics Team (SLANT) allegedly produced a cache of numerous weapons, cocaine; and other drugs.

As a result, according to court records, Zachary M.D. Estep, was arrested without incident at the scene and charged with felony possession of a firearm by an adjudicated delinquent, possession with intent to deliver LSD, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession with intent to deliver THC, possession with intent to deliver other controlled substances (MDMA), maintaining a drug trafficking place; and a single misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Weapons recovered from the search, according to court documents, include a 9 mm pistol, a 20-gauge shotgun; and two 12-gauge shotguns. Investigators also seized phones, packaging materials, a scale; and other evidence.

A roommate who was present at the time of the search was not immediately arrested in the raid; nor had he been charged, according to court records reviewed prior to the newspaper’s Monday deadline.

Bond information was unavailable from court records late Monday; and a hearing had yet to be scheduled for arraignment or bond. Estep pleaded guilty to a single count of hit-and-run in 2022 involving an unattended vehicle but has no previous felonies in Wisconsin, records indicate.

If convicted of a single count of possession with intent to deliver in Wisconsin, Estep faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.

The SLANT Task Force includes personnel from the Illinois State Police, Rockford, Ill Police Department; Freeport, Ill Police Department; Loves Park, Ill. Police Department; Belvidere, Ill. Police Department, Boone County, Ill. Sheriff’s Office; Green County Sheriff’s Office; Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office; and the Monroe Police Department.
