MONROE - Construction will begin soon for a Dunkin Donuts franchise store on 8th Street in Monroe, and the store should be open by summer.
Owner Jeremy Alsaker acquired the property near Subway on the corner of Wisconsin 69 and 8th Street and expects to have the store up and running by June.
Alsaker said no extra entry ways will be made on either Wis. 69 or 8th Street, and consumers can use existing entry ways to get to the store. The store will be 2,200 square feet and employ about 35 employees in part-time and full-time positions.
Alsaker said construction usually takes 120 days, but with the onset of winter, they will set a foundation this fall, work on the inside over the winter and will finish up the outside and landscaping in the spring.
"We don't have an exact date on breaking ground, but we hope it's in the next couple weeks," Alsaker said.
