MONROE - The first of three prayer services for people affected by the drought will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 23 at the north shelter at Twining Park.
Green County churches are hosting the community prayer services.
A light lunch, sponsored by an anonymous donor, will be provided by the participating churches. Attendees are asked to bring a dessert to share. The public is also invited to attend and show their support.
