MONROE - The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will conduct a public meeting on future highway projects starting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The first is for a pavement replacement project on the Wisconsin 11 bypass around Monroe. The project will stretch from County N just west of the city to 3,000 feet east of Hiltbrand Lane past the east side of Monroe. The project is slated for 2019. Some of the needs identified along this section of Wis. 11 include cracked and deteriorating pavement, intersection upgrades and repairs to the bridge decks and drainage system.
The meeting will also include information about a pavement replacement project on Wis. 81 between Wis. 11 and County N, which runs in front of Pleasant View, and one on Wis. 59 between 28th Avenue in Monroe east to Weiss Lane. That work is scheduled for 2020.
The meeting is scheduled from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Green County Justice Center, 2841 6th St., Monroe. The meeting will provide an overview of the purpose and need for the project and gather input on the proposed improvements. A brief presentation will take place at 6 p.m. The remainder of the meeting will follow an open house format. Adjacent property owners are encouraged to attend.
