MONROE - Main Street Monroe's "Dickens on the Square" holiday event will be held Friday, Dec. 7.
A parade starts at 5 p.m. from the middle school, 1510 13th St., and will travel around the Square.
Santa will then be at Wisconsin Bank and Trust, 1717 10th St., for pictures. Other activities include roasting chestnuts over an open fire; the Monroe High School Madrigal Singers singing carols; and a Christmas present wrapping contest at Monroe Public Library, 925 16th Ave.
Christmas coach tours of lighting contest winners in the city, sponsored by Lamers and Monroe Clinic, will also be available. The coach tours will begin at the Monroe Public Library. Tours depart at 5, 6, 7 and 8 p.m. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased in advance at Rainbow Confections, 1600 11th St., Monroe. Remaining tickets can be purchased the night of the event.
