MONROE - About 100 more antlered deer were killed in Green County during this year's firearm hunting season than in 2015.
According to preliminary deer registration totals from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources released Tuesday, 783 antlered deer were killed in Green County during the nine-day firearm season, an increase from 2015's total of 680.
On the other hand, the number of antlerless deer killed decreased slightly, from 2015's 963 killed to this year's 950.
Lafayette County saw nearly no change in either of its totals. Antlered deer kills numbered at 775 in 2015, only five fewer than the 780 reported this year. Lafayette County saw 1,004 antlerless deer killed this year, compared to 1,075 in 2015.
As with last year, Marathon County saw the highest total number of deer killed, at 7,663.
