DARLINGTON - The Darlington school board Monday night in closed session narrowed its superintendent search from five to four people.
Superintendent Joe Galle plans to retire at the end of the school year.
The four finalists are:
Christopher Thomalla, superintendent of the Elcho school district. His district is consolidating with another and his position will be eliminated.
Christopher Nelson, superintendent at Rice Lake.
Linda Erickson, curriculum supervisor in Darlington.
Gordon Geurink, interim superintendent at Cochrane-Fountain City.
Steve Shaw, high school principal at Prescott, had been a fifth candidate.
The school board will meet in closed session again tonight to discuss the candidates.
"We haven't made up our minds yet," Galle said. "We may pick a candidate tonight, but we don't really know."
Galle said the position is full time and he hopes to have someone in place by the end of April.
