ARGYLE - The victim of Monday morning's fatal traffic accident on Wis. 81, just west of County M in the Town of Jordan, was identified Tuesday as Bradley S. Chenous, 29, of Argyle.
Chenous was a 2000 graduate of Argyle High School and later graduated from University of Wisconsin-Platteville. He was active in the Argyle United Methodist Church and served on the village board. Chenous played trumpet with the Monroe City Band and was an assistant coach for Pec-Argyle Youth Football. He was active in numerous other community activities.
He had worked at Lambeau Field, Rossing's Fine Foods and Turner Hall in Monroe. Most recently, he worked as a courier for The Monroe Times.
A memorial service is planned for 10 a.m. Friday, June 17 at Argyle High School. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the school and again from 9 a.m. to the time of services Friday. Complete obituary information appears on Page A2 of today's edition.
The accident occurred at 6:45 a.m. Monday. The Green County Sheriff's Department reported Chenous' pickup was westbound on Wis. 81 and was rounding a sweeping curve in the road, but then left the highway on the south side and collided with a tree. He had no passengers.
An autopsy revealed he died of injuries sustained in the crash, before the vehicle caught fire.
