Crash closes Wis. 11

MONROE - Three people were hospitalized with severe injuries Monday after a two-vehicle collision that closed a section of Wisconsin 11 for four hours.

The accident, near County G west of Brodhead, was determined to have been a head-on collision, causing one vehicle to overturn, according to a press release from the Green County Sheriff's Department.

The driver of one vehicle was transported to Mercy Hospital in Janesville by Brodhead EMS. The other driver and his lone passenger suffered critical injuries and were flown to the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison by two MedFlight helicopters.

The identities of the victims have been withheld pending notification of their families, according to the press release.

County deputies, the Green County Highway Department, Green County EMS, and the Juda and Brodhead Fire Departments worked to provide emergency care and clear the roadway before it reopened.
