County announces upcoming road work

Work that will finish the project on Wis. 11 restarted March 20 as workers complete the final phase that will include concrete paving a section of Wis. 11, asphalt shouldering and gravel. Later, pavement marking, signs, and other finishing touches will be done.

GREEN COUNTY — The Green County Sheriff's Office has announced road closures and detours associated with construction projects in the coming weeks.

Beginning Aug. 25, there will be a detour both north and south of Wisconsin 39 from the Dane County line south to County H.

North of Wis. 39, traffic will be detoured in Dane County onto County O and could open later in the week. South of Wis. 39, County J will be detoured east on County H to Wis. 69 and then starting Aug. 27 for two weeks will be detoured west on Wis. 39.

In addition, County N south of Wis. 81 near Walmart in Monroe will be under construction for resurfacing. The sheriff's office is asking drivers to avoid the area.

Beginning just after Labor Day (Sept. 7), County T south of Wis. 81 will be closed at Town Center Road for a major culvert replacement and resurfacing.

County KK will be resurfaced starting after Labor Day, too.
