MONROE - Local residents still recovering from flooding last summer will receive continued support from a four-county committee announced Monday.
A Region 5 Long-Term Recovery Committee (LTRC) aims to assure that residents in Green, Lafayette, Grant and Iowa counties have continued support and resources. The LTRC includes representatives from county human services departments, county emergency management, volunteer organizations and citizens.
While many residents received FEMA assistance, some are finding they did not receive enough assistance or have been unable to make home repairs. The LTRC has been tasked with helping residents who need additional assistance putting their homes and lives back together. Anyone needing additional assistance with cleanup or repairs should call their county emergency management director. Green County residents can call the emergency management office at 328-9416.
The LTRC also is looking for citizens interested in assisting residents recover and committing to several hours a month for meeting, which typically are held in Darlington or Dodgeville as central locations. County emergency management directors can provide information about working with the group or answer questions.
