MONROE - Main Street Monroe's final Concert on the Square for the season will take place Thursday.
National touring artist Corey Cox starts things off on the Square at 6:30 p.m. with country, a bit of rock and roll and his own originals - including the contagious tune "Mistakes You Don't Make." Cox has shared the stage with some of country music's hottest artists, including Sugarland, Dierks Bentley, Darius Rucker and Toby Keith.
In keeping with the Monroe Parks and Recreation Department's special evening celebration of "Cinderella on the Square," all kids are invited to dress as a princess, firefighter, superhero or favorite storybook character. Parks and Rec activities will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. with fun and games around the "castle," also known as the Green County Courthouse. The Green County Dairy Queens will make cameo appearances as Disney princesses.
The Main Street Beverage Garden will offer beer, including local brews, plus wine at the wine stand.
Concert attendees are reminded to make use of the trash cans and recycling stations, and to pick up after themselves. Volunteers to help with clean up or set up duties are always needed.
