MONROE POLICE 

MONROE —  No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at 7:54 a.m. Sept. 28 on 21st Street and 14th Avenue. Cassie J. Evonovich, 42, Monroe, was northbound on 14th Ave. and collided with an eastbound vehicle on 21st St. operated by a 48-year-old Monroe man. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage. They were parked for removal. Evonovich was cited for failure to yield right of way from a stop sign.

On Oct. 11:

● Tina M. Moulton, 63, Albany, was transported by Green County EMS to the Monroe Clinic Emergency Room for injuries sustained from a two-vehicle crash at 5:29 p.m. Oct. 11 on 2nd Street and Wis. 69. Nancy L. Brown, 66, Monroe, was stopped at stop sign at 2nd St. and proceeded east and collided with a northbound vehicle operated by Moulton. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage. They were towed. Brown was cited for failure to yield right of way from stop sign. 

● A two-vehicle crash was reported at 12:10 p.m. Oct. 13 on West 8th Street and 4th Avenue West. As police were responding one of the vehicles fled. Investigation revealed Sara R. Baase, 44, Winslow, Illinois, was westbound on West 8th St. when a vehicle operated by Donald J. Alexander, 29, Monroe, pulled out in front of her from 4th Ave. West. Alexander was located and cited for hit-and-run, driving while suspended, failure to yield right of way when turning left and no vehicle insurance. Probation and Parole was contacted, and a hold was placed on him. He was jailed.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE — Minor injuries were reported from a single-semi crash at 12:44 p.m. Oct. 1 in the W2100 block of County SS, Town of Decatur. Jeffrey M. Brewer, 61, Evansville, was southbound hauling a tank of liquid manure when he failed to negotiate a curve, exited the roadway and entered the ditch. The semi overturned causing 5,500 gallons of manure to spill. The semi-tractor sustained severe damage. It was towed. The Brodhead Fire Department, Brodhead EMS and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources assisted. This crash remains under investigation. 

● Steven C. Mitchell, 26, Beloit, was transported by Green County EMS to the Monroe Clinic Emergency Room for serious injuries sustained from a single motorcycle crash at 12:21 a.m. Oct. 3 on Wis. 11/81 and County GG, Town of Spring Grove. He was westbound on Wis. 81, failed to stop at stop sign at intersection of Wis. 11 and County GG, continued through and entered the ditch. He was ejected from the motorcycle. He was not wearing a helmet. The motorcycle sustained disabling damage. It was towed. He was arrested on a fourth-offense charge of operating un the influence. He was also cited for failure to stop at stop sign, failure to maintain control of vehicle, operating a motorcycle without a valid license, operating after revocation, failure to install an ignition interlock device, display false registration and non-registration of vehicle. He was released. The Brodhead Police Department assisted. 

On Oct. 6:

● Minor injuries were reported from a one-vehicle rollover crash at 3:52 p.m. Oct. 6 in the N6600 block of County J, Town of Adams. Mara L. Anunson, 18, Mt. Horeb, was northbound and negotiating a right curve when her tires entered the east shoulder. She over corrected sliding across the roadway, entered the north ditch and overturned coming to rest on its wheels. The vehicle sustained disabling damage. It was towed. She was cited for failure to keep vehicle under control and non-registration of auto. 

On Oct. 8: 

● A one-vehicle crash with injuries was reported at 12:13 a.m. in the W700 block of Decatur Road, Town of Decatur. John W. Schluesche, 23, Monroe, was westbound when he failed to negotiate a right curve. He exited the roadway, entered the west ditch and hit a telephone pole which caused a loss of power to homes in the area. His passenger was transported by Brodhead EMS for evaluation. The vehicle sustained disabling damage with airbag deployment. Schluesche was arrested on a second-offense charge of operating under the influence and failure to install an ignition interlock device. He was also cited for failure to maintain control of vehicle, operating after revocation and operating under the influence. He was jailed. Brodhead Police Department assisted. Alliant Energy repaired telephone pole. 

● Injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at 4:42 p.m. in the W8800 block of Wis. 39. Mariana J. Tejeda, 17, Madison, was westbound attempting to turn left into a driveway and was hit by an eastbound vehicle operated by Sarah A. Long-Duffy, 32, Blanchardville. Tejeda’s vehicle sustained disabling damage with airbag deployment. It was towed. Long-Duffy was treated on scene. Her vehicle sustained disabling damage with airbag deployment. It was towed. 

● Injuries were reported from a two-vehicle crash at 7:10 p.m. Oct. 10 on Wis. 11 and County G, Town of Spring Grove. Jeffrey D. Broten, 40, Juda, was westbound, stopped and waiting to turn left on County G when a vehicle operated by Samantha J. Masseur, 34, Monroe, hit the rear of Broten’s vehicle causing it to overturn. His vehicle sustained disabling damage with airbag deployment. It was towed. Masseur’s passenger was transported for evaluation of injury sustained. Her vehicle sustained disabling damage with airbag deployment. It was towed. 

On Oct. 13: 

● A hit-and-run accident was reported at 1:50 a.m. in the 200 block of 2nd Street in New Glarus. Investigation revealed between 10 p.m. Oct. 12 and 1:30 a.m. Oct. 13 a truck parked on the street was hit causing functional damage to passenger side. It was unoccupied at the time. 

● No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle collision at 10:51 a.m. in the N4100 block of Wis. 59, Town of Sylvester. Daniel P. Nevel, 50, rural Brooklyn, was traveling southwest when his trailer was sideswiped by a northeast vehicle. The other driver did not stop and remains unidentified. Nevel’s cattle trailer sustained functional damage. The suspect vehicle was described as a black pickup truck with a dump type trailer. 

On Oct. 15:

● A vehicle in the ditch was reported at 6:34 a.m. Oct. 15 in the N6200 block of Wis. 69. Mallory R. Barbieur, 37, Evansville, was attempting to back into a field drive and missed causing her vehicle to enter the ditch. The vehicle was removed by Jelle’s Towing. She was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating under the influence. She was also cited for operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration. She was jailed. 

● No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle crash at 8:19 p.m. Oct. 16 in the N3000 block of Wis. 81, Town of Monroe. Ryana J. Southall, 19, Monroe, was westbound in the right lane attempting to merge into the left lane and hit a westbound vehicle beside her operated by Brooke A. Orton, 27, Argyle. Southall’s vehicle sustained disabling damage. It was towed by Jelle’s Towing. Orton’s vehicle sustained disabling damage with side airbag deployment. It was towed by Don’s Towing. Southall was cited for inattentive driving and no vehicle insurance. 

● Non-life threatening injuries were reported from a single motorcycle crash at 12:43 p.m. Oct. 17 on Greenbush Road and Monroe-Sylvester Road, Town of Sylvester. Carol L. Green, 48, Orfordville, was negotiating a left curve when she entered the shoulder and lost control. She was ejected from the motorcycle. She was transported by Monroe EMS. The motorcycle was removed by Don’t Towing. Juda Fire Department and Monroe Paramedics assisted.
