Monroe Police

MONROE — A two-vehicle accident with injuries was reported at 18th Avenue and 7th Street at 8:11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5. Gwendolyn J. Weber, 29, South Wayne, was eastbound on 7th Street when she collided with a northbound vehicle on 18th Avenue. The driver of the northbound vehicle, a 38-year-old Monroe woman, was transported by Green County EMS with non-life threatening injuries. Both vehicles sustained moderate damages, and one was towed. Weber was cited for failure to obey a yield sign.

MONROE — On Sunday, Nov. 3:

●  Kristopher R. Miller, 20, Monticello, and his passenger reported no injuries from a one-vehicle crash at 11:21 p.m. at Wis. 81 and Joy Del Road, Town of Monroe. He was westbound on Joy Del Road when he failed to negotiate a curve and the vehicle entered the northwest ditch. The vehicle sustained moderate damage, with airbag deployment. It was towed.

On Monday, Nov. 4:

●  Christopher M. Raab, 44, Warren, reported no injuries at 6:15 a.m. after he sideswiped an unoccupied parked vehicle in the 600 block of Wis. 69 in New Glarus.

On Wednesday, Nov. 6:

●  Evan R. Dorn, 25, New Glarus, reported no injuries from a vehicle vs. tree crash at 5:53 a.m. in the W8400 block of Sawmill Road, Town of York. He was westbound when he lost control due to the snow-covered road surface. The vehicle entered the ditch where it struck a tree. The vehicle sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene.  

●  Olivia G. Sprinkle, 16, Monroe, reported no injuries from a one-vehicle rollover crash at 7:50 a.m. in the W4200 block of Greenbush Road, Town of Sylvester. She was eastbound when she lost control while negotiating a curve. The vehicle entered the ditch where it overturned and came to a rest on its roof. It was towed. Sprinkle was cited for failure to keep a vehicle under control and for operating a motor vehicle without an instructor, parent or authorized person.

●  Chad A. Rucinski, 41, Monroe, reported no injuries from a one-vehicle crash at 5:19 p.m. in the Town of Mount Pleasant. He was southbound on County D when he attempted to turn eastbound onto County C but lost control of his vehicle, which entered the south ditch of County C. The vehicle sustained disabling damage, with airbag deployment. It was towed. Rucinski was cited for failure to keep a vehicle under control.

●  Breanne E. Karn, 29, Belleville, reported no injuries from a one-vehicle crash at 7:04 p.m. in the W4300 block of County W, Town of Exeter. She was westbound when she lost control due to the snow-covered road surface. The vehicle went off the road and hit several mailboxes. The vehicle sustained minor damage. It was driven from the scene.

●  A one-vehicle crash with an occupant trapped inside was reported at 9:53 p.m. in the N7900 block of Wis. 104, Town of Brooklyn. Brooklyn EMS and the Evansville Fire Department responded with deputies to the scene. Sarah J. Byrns Grindrod, 65, Juda, was southbound when she lost control due to the ice-covered road surface. Her vehicle entered the ditch and rolled onto its side, trapping her inside. Several citizens who stopped at the crash scene extricated her from the vehicle. Byrns Grindrod reported no injuries. The vehicle was towed.

●  Autumn E. Stiefel, 21, Warren, reported no injuries from a one-vehicle crash at 11:11 p.m. in the W9100 block of Wis. 11, Town of Cadiz. She was westbound when she lost control of her vehicle due to the ice-covered road surface. The vehicle struck a guardrail and came to rest. It sustained disabling damage, with airbag deployment. It was towed.

On Thursday, Nov. 7:

●  Megan R. Christen, 37, Monroe, and her passengers were uninjured in a one-vehicle crash reported at 12:03 a.m. in the W9000 block of Wis. 11, Town of Cadiz. She was eastbound when she lost control on the ice-covered road surface. The vehicle hit a guardrail, then came to a rest. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and remained on scene.

●  Raymond J. Randall, 53, Albany, reported no injuries from a rollover crash at 5:15 a.m. in the N7600 block of Wis. 104, Town of Brooklyn. He was northbound when he lost control due to the ice-covered roadway. The vehicle entered the west ditch, overturned and came to rest on its side. It sustained disabling damage and was towed. The Rock County Sheriff’s Office assisted deputies on scene.

●  Diane K. Kraus, 23, Monroe, sustained non-life threatening injuries in a rollover crash reported at 5:59 a.m. in the N6300 block of Wis. 69, Town of Mt. Pleasant. She was northbound when she lost control due to the ice-covered road surface. The vehicle crossed the centerline and entered the ditch. It then overturned once and came to rest on its tires. It sustained disabling damage and remained on scene. Kraus was transported to the Monroe Clinic ER by New Glarus EMS. The Monticello Fire Department assisted deputies.

●  William P. Arndt, 27, Brodhead, sustained non-life threatening injuries in a rollover crash reported at 7:40 a.m. in the N9300 block of Wis. 92, Town of Exeter. He lost control due to the ice-covered road surface while negotiating a curve. The vehicle entered the ditch and overturned. It sustained disabling damage and was towed. Arndt was taken by Belleville EMS to the Monroe Clinic ER. He was cited for operating a motor vehicle without insurance. Traffic on Wis. 92 was shut down for about 30 minutes due to the crash. The Belleville Police and Fire Departments assisted deputies on scene.

●  No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle crash at 3:03 p.m. in the N4100 block of Wis. 69, Town of Monroe. Gary J. Wirth, 41, Monticello, was northbound when he attempted to pull to the side of the road. While slowing to pull over, his vehicle was rear-ended by Jacqueline J. Siegel, 46, Monroe. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed. Siegel was cited for failure to keep a vehicle under control. The Green County Highway Department assisted with traffic control.

●  Matthew C. Reckamp, 24, Juda, reported no injuries from a one-vehicle crash at 6:34 p.m. in the W7100 block of Stateline Road, Town of Spring Grove. He was northbound on North Spring Brook Road in Illinois approaching the intersection with Stateline Road when he lost control due to the snow-covered road surface. The vehicle slide through the intersection, entered the north ditch of Stateline Road in Wisconsin, then hit a tree and a fence. The vehicle sustained disabling damage. It was towed.

●  Deputies located a one-vehicle crash at 9:22 p.m. in the W4000 block of Town Center Road, Town of Jefferson. Bodie J. Minder, 17, Monroe, was westbound when he reported that he swerved to miss a deer. The vehicle went into the south ditch. Minder reported no injuries. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and remained on scene. 

On Sunday, Nov. 10:

●  A vehicle in the ditch was reported at 5:31 a.m. at County C and Puddledock Road, Town of Adams. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the vehicle had been in a crash and the driver had fled the scene. Deputies later made contact with Travis R. Krychowiak, 18, Monticello, who admitted he was the driver of the vehicle when it crashed. He was westbound on County C when he lost control. The vehicle went into the ditch and hit an embankment. He sustained non-life threatening injuries. The vehicle had disabling damage and was later towed. Citations will be issued to Krychowiak.

DARLINGTON — On Thursday, Oct. 17:

●  Gregory E. McGinnis, 67, Monroe, reported hitting a deer at 5:46 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Gratiot. No injuries were reported. His 2001 Ford sustained minor damage.

●  Conor J. Riley, 21, Eagle River, reported hitting a deer at 4:46 p.m. on County F, Town of Seymour. No injuries were reported. His 2012 Ford sustained minor damage.

On Friday, Oct. 18:

●  Shawn R. Kraus, 52, Rewey, reported hitting a deer at 12:09 a.m. on County G, Town of Belmont. His 2013 Dodge sustained minor damage.

●  Jordan D. Hinderman, 36, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 10:31 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Benton. The vehicle, owned by the Lafayette County Highway Department, sustained minor damage.

●  Mary Van Bogaert, 62, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 5:04 p.m. on County O, Town of Kendall. Her 2013 GMC sustained minor damage.

On Saturday, Oct. 19:

●  Joseph J. Van Natta, 53, Platteville, reported hitting a deer at 4:38 a.m. on County I, Town of New Diggings. The vehicle, owned by Ubersox Used Car Superstore, Inc., sustained minor damage.

On Monday, Oct. 21:

●  No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at 10:13 a.m. on County J, Town of Benton. Larry A. Redfearn, 56, Hazel Green, had legally parked his 1998 Freightliner semi-truck and trailer on private property. The vehicle then rolled from park, exited the

property, crossed the road, entered an adjacent property and

came to rest striking a barn. The semi-truck sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene. Benton police assisted.

On Tuesday, Oct. 22:

●  A two-vehicle accident with no injuries was reported at 7:40 a.m. on County E, Town of Shullsburg. Joseph E. Thompson, 64, Shullsburg, was northbound when an oncoming vehicle driven by Dylan A. M. Kuhl, 25, Shullsburg, began crossing the centerline into Thompson’s lane. Thompson slowed, coming almost to a stop, and Kuhl sideswiped his vehicle. Thompson’s 2003 Buick and Kuhl’s 2009 Chevrolet sustained minor damage. Kuhl was cited for inattentive driving.

●  James J. McDonald, 86, Gratiot, reported hitting a deer at 6:21 p.m. on County K, Town of Darlington. No injuries were reported. His 2008 Buick sustained minor damage.

●  A one-vehicle accident was reported at 8:27 p.m. on County I, Town of Elk Grove. Elsie E. deHaan, 18, Cuba City, was southbound when a spare tire fell off the vehicle she was following and struck her 2005 Saturn. No injuries were reported. The Saturn sustained moderate damage and was towed. The Belmont Fire Department and Belmont EMS assisted on scene.

On Wednesday, Oct. 23:

●  Harlan J. Hanson, 64, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 6:05 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Darlington. The 2008 Chevrolet sustained minor damage.

●  Scott A. Dayton, 49, Shullsburg, reported hitting a deer at 6:22 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Argyle. The 2007 Kenworth, owned by Bard Materials, sustained minor damage and was towed.

●  Harold L. Heindel, 74, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 7 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg. The 2005 Buick sustained minor damage.

●  Roger L. Grenoble, 47, Monroe, reported hitting a deer at 7:28 a.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Argyle. The 2012 Chrysler sustained minor damage.

●  Greta R. Fenn, 64, Warren, reported hitting a deer at 4:45 p.m. on Wis. 11 in South Wayne. The 2007 Buick sustained minor damage.

On Thursday, Oct. 24:

●  Deputies responded for a one-vehicle accident at 2:51 p.m. on West Mound Road, Town of Belmont, and arrived to find an unattended 2004 BMW owned by Stephen A. Grisez, 22, Montfort, in the ditch. The moderately damaged vehicle was towed. The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office assisted on scene. As a result, Grisez was cited for driving with a revoked license, unreasonable and imprudent speeding, failure to keep a vehicle under control, failure to notify police of an accident, no vehicle insurance, resisting an officer and possessing drug paraphernalia.

●  Steve J. Webber, 60, Darlington reported hitting a deer at 10:15 a.m. on County F, Town of Fayette. The 2011 Ford sustained minor damage.

●  A semi rollover was reported at 1:46 p.m. in the Town of Wiota. Shawn C. Frye, 41, Janesville, was westbound on Church Road when he failed to negotiate a turn onto South Road, causing the semi to roll on its side and hit a power pole. Frye and his passenger, Shayna M. Adcox, 34, Janesville, were transported by ambulance for minor injuries. The 2005 Freightliner and 2015 Stoughton Trailer, owned by Miller Grain Service, Inc. of Edgerton, sustained moderate damage and were towed. Assisting deputies on scene were the Wiota Fire Department, Argyle EMS, Argyle Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol and Scenic Rivers Energy Co-op. The accident remains under investigation.

On Friday, Oct. 25:

●  Robyn L. Muller, 38, Dickeyville, reported hitting a deer at 6:53 p.m. on County O, Town of Shullsburg. No injuries were reported. The 2016 Kia sustained moderate damage.

On Saturday, Oct. 26:

●  Bradley J. Fuller, 45, Madison, reported hitting a deer at 2:15 a.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont. No injuries were reported. The 2005 Toyota sustained moderate damage and was towed.

On Sunday, Oct. 27:

●  David A. Heffernan, 54, Dubuque, Iowa, reported hitting a deer at 6:24 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Benton. No injuries were reported. His 2016 Ram sustained minor damage.

On Monday, Oct. 28:

●  Michael L. Kammerud, 44, Mineral Point, reported hitting a deer at 6:17 a.m. on County G, Town of Willow Springs. His 2005 Ford sustained minor damage.

●  Gerard J. Grimm, 57, Mineral Point, reported hitting a deer at 8:01 p.m. on County D, Town of Darlington. His 2016 Chevrolet sustained minor damage.

On Tuesday, Oct. 29:

● A one-vehicle accident was reported at 4:32 a.m. on College Farm Road, Town of Belmont. Joseph C. Uppena, 37, Cassville, lost control of his 2003 Ford causing it to go into the ditch due to road conditions. The Ford sustained minor damage. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office assisted on scene.
