Green County Sheriff

MONROE — Jeremiah S. Hanner, 16, Durand, Illinois, reported no injuries from a one-vehicle crash in the N2300 block of Mt. Hope Road, Town of Spring Grove, at 8:07 a.m. Friday, May 3. While negotiating a left curve in the road, the driver’s side tire broke free from the vehicle. As a result, Hanner lost control and entered the ditch. The vehicle then began to spin, resulting in the rear end striking a tree. The vehicle was towed. 

●  Connie J. Rufer, 63, Monroe, reported no injuries from a two-vehicle crash in the W3000 block of Meadow Lane, Town of Jefferson, at 7:49 p.m. Saturday, May 4. She was legally backing her vehicle when she struck an unoccupied, legally parked vehicle. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and were driven from the scene.

On Wednesday, May 8:

●  No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle crash at 8:22 a.m. in New Glarus. Reeve W. Binger, 18, Brooklyn, was on Railroad Street and slowing to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with 14th Avenue when a vehicle turning from 14th Avenue onto Railroad Street collided with his vehicle. The other driver was Ethan L. Gray, 17, Monticello. Both vehicles sustained functional damage but were driven from the scene.

●  Tina M. Cornellier, 57, Beloit, was transported by Brodhead EMS to Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center in Janesville after deputies responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch at 11:19 p.m. in the W300 block of Wis. 11, Town of Spring Grove. Cornellier was eastbound when she failed to negotiate a curve in the road. The vehicle left the road and hit a light pole, then came to rest in the ditch. No one else was injured in the crash. The vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed. The Brodhead Fire Department assisted on scene. Cornellier was cited for failure to maintain control of a vehicle.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On Sunday, May 5:

●  A deputy came across a one-vehicle accident at 3:35 a.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Blanchard. Johnathon E. Timmerman, 23, Argyle, had lost control of his 2000 Chevrolet, causing it to go off the road and come to rest in the ditch. No injuries were reported. The vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed. Timmerman was cited for failure to notify police of an accident, failure to keep vehicle under control and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

●  Kimberly A. Hoffmann, 42, Stoughton, reported hitting a deer on County F, Town of Blanchard, at 9:10 p.m. Tuesday, May 7. No injuries were reported. The 2013 Toyota sustained severe damage and was towed.
