Green County Sheriff 

MONROE — A one-vehicle crash in which the driver had left the scene was reported in the W6800 block of Wis. 81, Town of Monroe, at 7:36 a.m. Tuesday, June 25. The vehicle was westbound when it entered the gravel shoulder, exited the road and hit a fence. Deputies later located the offending vehicle at a business several miles away. The driver was identified as Nathan R. Doss, 25, Freeport. Doss reported that he was not injured in the crash. The vehicle sustained moderate damage. Doss was cited for failure to maintain control of a vehicle, hit-and-run to property adjacent to the highway, driving without vehicle insurance and failure to notify law enforcement of an accident.

DARLINGTON — A one-vehicle accident involving a milk truck was reported at 11:19 p.m. Monday, June 24. William E. Edwards, 28, Stockton, Illinois, was northbound on County KK, Town of Gratiot, when he fell asleep at the wheel, causing the milk truck to strike a guard rail and enter the ditch. The milk truck sustained severe damage and was towed. Warren EMS, Warren police, Gratiot First Response and the Gratiot Fire Department assisted a deputy on scene.

On Tuesday, June 25:

●  No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at 4:11 a.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Gratiot. Matthew J. King, 16, Darlington, was eastbound when he fell asleep at the wheel, causing his vehicle to verge into the other lane of traffic and hit a tow truck driven by Alex R. Douglas, 41, Darlington. King’s 2008 Toyota sustained severe damage and was towed. The Gratiot Fire Department, Gratiot First Response and Green County EMS of Darlington assisted a deputy on scene.

●  Eleanor E. Landau, 78, Shullsburg, reported hitting a deer at 9:14 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington. Her 2013 Lexus sustained minor damage.

●  Sarah K. Schade, 37, Dodgeville, reported hitting a deer at 10:49 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Kendall. Her 2004 Chevrolet sustained minor damage.
