Monroe Police

MONROE — A two-vehicle crash with no injuries was reported at 4:39 a.m. July 13. Jeffery C. Ritter, 62, Monroe, was westbound on 8th Street and collided with a southbound vehicle on Wis. 69 driven by a 46-year-old man from Klondike, Texas. Ritter’s vehicle sustained moderate damage. The other vehicle had minor damage. Ritter was cited for no vehicle insurance and failure to yield right-of-way from a flashing red signal.

●  Reesan R. J. Ruch, 21, South Wayne, was cited for failure to yield right of way from a flashing red signal at 11:39 p.m. July 14. Ruch was westbound on 8th Street and collided with a northbound vehicle on Wis. 69 driven by a 50-year-old Brodhead man. Both vehicles sustained severe damage and were towed.


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — On July 13:

●  A truck vs. UTV crash was reported at 3:04 p.m. in the W7400 block of Bartelt Road, Town of Cadiz. Daniel M. Peterson, 28, Browntown, was eastbound on the UTV when he negotiated a curve too wide and veered into the westbound lane and hit the pickup truck driven by Leopoldo Hernandez Quiroz, 25, Freeport. Peterson was transported by ambulance for evaluation of his injuries. Hernandez Quiroz reported no injuries. The UTV sustained UTV was removed from the scene by private vehicle. The pickup truck had moderate damage and was driven from the scene. Peterson was cited for non-registration of a UTV. Green County EMS and the Browntown Fire Department assisted deputies.

●  Caleb McIntosh, 16, Monroe, was injured in a dirt bike accident reported at about 8:30 p.m. in the W4800 block of Burkhalter Road, Town of Sylvester. He was eastbound when he swerved to avoid a small animal, lost control and slid on the pea gravel into the ditch. He was transported by Green County EMS for his injuries. Juda First Response also assisted deputies on scene. McIntosh was cited for operating an off-highway motorcycle without a valid certificate and operating an off-highway motorcycle upon a roadway.

On July 19:

●  A motorcycle vs. deer crash was reported at 10:43 a.m. in the W7300 block of Wis. 81 South, Town of Jordan. Jonathan C. Stoeger, 40, Argyle, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported by Green County EMS to the Monroe Clinic ER. The motorcycle sustained severe damage. It was towed. The deer was deceased. The Browntown Fire Department also assisted deputies on scene.

On July 17:

●  A two-vehicle crash with no injuries was reported at 9:29 a.m. in the 200 block of North Mechanic Street in Albany. Larry W. Nipple, 70, Albany, and Christopher K. Roberts, 69, Albany, were backing out of separate driveways when their vehicles collided. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage.

●  Randall W. Leeder Jr., 32, Edgerton, was arrested on a first-offense charge of driving while under the influence of drugs after a traffic complaint at 9:57 a.m. on Wis. 69 in Monticello. Leeder was cited for unsafe lane deviation, driving with a suspended license, an expired vehicle registration and no vehicle insurance. He was released pending court.

On July 18:

●  Deputies, Belleville EMS, Albany EMS and the Monticello Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle crash at 4:38 p.m. at County C and County D, Town of Mt. Pleasant. Karen A. Larson, 58, Albany, was northbound on County D, did not observe any vehicles and entered the intersection, colliding with a vehicle driven by Bradley A. Bernet, 26, Monticello, who was eastbound on County C. Bernet’s vehicle entered the ditch and hit a power pole, then came to a rest in a cornfield. He reported no injuries. His vehicle sustained severe damage. It was towed. Larson sustained non-life threatening injuries. Her vehicle had severe damage, with airbags deployment. It was towed. She was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way from a yield sign. Alliant Energy made repairs to the power pole.

●  Deputies, Blanchardville EMS, the Blanchardville Fire Department and New Glarus police responded to a one-vehicle crash at 5:15 p.m. in the W7600 block of Wis. 39, Town of York. Leslie E. Acosta, 19, Blanchardville, was westbound when she lost control, exited the road and hit a culvert, overturned and came to rest. No injuries were reported. The vehicle sustained disabling damage, with airbags deployment. It was towed. She was cited for failure to keep a vehicle under control.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On July 9:

●  A one-vehicle accident with one person sustaining minor injuries was reported at 8 p.m. on County XX, Town of Belmont. Southwest Health EMS and the Platteville Fire Department responded. Cade R. Kirkpatrick, 30, Montfort, was eastbound when his 2006 Pontiac crossed the centerline into the ditch. He was taken to the hospital and later arrested on a third-offense charge of operating while intoxicated and for driving with a revoked license. He was booked at the jail, then released to a responsible party. He was also cited for failure to maintain control of his vehicle.

On July 10:

●  Rachael E. Corley, 31, Darlington, reported hitting a deer at 8 p.m. on County F, Town of Blanchard. Her 2016 Ford sustained minor damage.

On July 11:

●  Chett L. Winkler, 21, Lancaster, reported hitting a deer at 5:20 a.m. on County P, Town of Monticello. No injuries were reported. His 2014 Volkswagen sustained moderate damage.
