Lafayette County Sheriff
DARLINGTON — On Friday, Dec. 28:
● Minor injuries were reported from a one-vehicle rollover accident at 12:39 a.m. on County D, Town of Lamont. Clayton S. Welte, 23, Stoughton, was southbound when he failed to negotiate a curve, causing his 1998 Saturn to leave the road, roll and come to rest on its wheels in a cornfield. The Saturn sustained severe damage and was towed. Welte was arrested for a probation violation and first-offense charge of operating while intoxicated. He was jailed. The Darlington Fire Department, Green County EMS of Darlington, Grant County Sheriff’s Office and Darlington Police Department assisted deputies.
● A car vs. semi accident without injuries was reported at 6:11 a.m. on East Main Street in Benton. A 2009 Freightliner semi-truck owned by Consumers Supply Distributing, Sioux City, Iowa, struck a parked 2009 Buick owned by Kenneth E. Blaine, 74, Benton. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.
● A two-vehicle accident without injuries was reported at 6:55 p.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont. Both vehicle sustained minor damage and were driven from the scene.
On Monday, Dec. 31:
● Minor injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at 1:25 a.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Willow Springs. Zachary D. Brennum, 29, Dodgeville, lost control of his vehicle, struck a guardrail and went down an embankment. His 2002 Jeep sustained severe damage and was towed. Brennum was arrested on a second-offense charge of operating while intoxicated and transported to the jail, where he was booked and later released to a responsible party. He was also cited for operating left of center, no vehicle insurance, endangering safety by reckless driving and inattentive driving. Green County EMS of Darlington and the Darlington Police and Fire Departments assisted deputies on scene.
● No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at 4:40 p.m. on County N, Town of Argyle. William R. Keehn, 49, Argyle, lost control of the milk truck he was driving, causing the vehicle to enter the ditch and strike a power pole. The 2006 Kenworth truck was severely damage and towed.
● No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at 4:44 p.m. on East Platteville Avenue in Belmont. Rod D. Maurer Jr., 19, Mineral Point, lost control of his 1990 Ford, causing it to leave the road and go into a field. The Ford sustained minor damage and was towed. Maurer was cited for failure to maintain control of a vehicle.
● No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at 6:17 p.m. on North Lafayette Street in Argyle. Philip N. Cline, 62, Argyle, was pulling out of a driveway when his 2010 Toyota began sliding and hit the curb and a street sign. The Toyota had minor damage and was driven from the scene.
● Kenneth J. Olson, 82, Mineral Point, reported hitting a deer at 8:19 p.m. on County G, Town of Argyle. No injuries were reported. Olson’s 2018 Equinox sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
● No injuries were reported from a rollover accident at 10:56 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Willow Springs. Tara J. Goodrich, 18, Shullsburg, lost control of her 2002 Chevrolet, which went into the ditch, rolled and came to rest on its side. It was moderately damaged and towed. Green County EMS of Darlington and the Darlington Police and Fire Departments assisted.
On Tuesday, Jan. 1:
● Minor injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at 7:08 a.m. on Pleasant Drive Road, Town of Wiota. Kevin E. Lowe, 55, South Wayne, was northbound when he lost control of his 2015 Ford, causing the vehicle to go into the north ditch, slide back across the roadway into the south ditch and hit a fence. The Ford was moderately damaged and towed. Lowe was cited for driving with a suspended license. Argyle EMS and Woodford First Response assisted the responding deputy.
On Wednesday, Jan. 2:
● A one-vehicle accident was reported at 7:38 a.m. on County G, Town of Kendall. Riley K. Hawkinson, 20, Blanchardville, lost control of her 2008 Chevrolet due to slippery road conditions. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed.
● Susan R. Miller, 64, Argyle, reported hitting a deer at 8:28 a.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Blanchard. No injuries were reported. Miller’s 2002 Buick sustained minor damage.
Emily M. Langkamp, 25, Darlington, reported hitting a deer on Wis. 81, Town of Argyle, at 7:10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3. Her 2016 Dodge sustained minor damage.
On Friday, Jan. 4:
● Robert G. Wand, 55, Gratiot, reported hitting a deer at 3:28 a.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Willow Springs. No injuries were reported. His 2008 Toyota sustained severe damage and was towed.
● Megan A. Daluz, 29, Woodford, reported hitting a deer at 6:37 a.m. on County M, Town of Darlington. No injuries were reported. Her 2010 Chevrolet sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene.
● Betty J. Collins, 78, Brodhead, reported hitting a deer at 5:49 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg. No injuries were reported. Her 2015 GMC sustained severe damage and was towed.
On Saturday, Jan. 5:
● A two-vehicle accident was reported at 12:47 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Gratiot. Cheyenne M. Winslow, 22, Shullsburg, was westbound on Wis. 11 when she signaled to turn south onto Kingsley Road and Cullen M. Kruser, 20, Burlington, rear-ended her vehicle, pushing it off the road and into the ditch. Both Winslow’s 2003 Chrysler and Kruser’s 2011 Ram were severely damaged and towed. Kruser was cited for following too closely. The Wisconsin State Patrol, Gratiot First Response, Gratiot Fire Department and Green County EMS of Darlington assisted on scene.
● A one-vehicle rollover was reported at 1:30 p.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Argyle. A deputy, the Argyle Fire Department, Argyle EMS and Blanchardville EMS responded. The vehicle was towed.
Monroe Police
MONROE — A two-vehicle accident with no injuries was reported at the intersection of 21st Street and 8th Avenue at 6:51 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4. A vehicle driven by Scott A. Golackson, 44, Monroe, collided with a vehicle driven by a 37-year-old Monroe woman. The vehicles sustained minor to moderate damage. Golackson was cited for failure to yield right-of-way at a stop sign.
