Monroe Police

MONROE — No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle crash at 3:04 p.m. Feb. 1 on 9th Street and 19th Avenue. Stewart D. Ellsworth, 83, Monroe, was traveling south on 19th Avenue when he failed to yield the right of way and hit another vehicle passing through the intersection. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage. He was cited for failure to yield right of way from a stop sign. 


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — On Feb. 1: 

●  No injuries were reported from a single-vehicle crash at 9:19 a.m. in the W4900 block of County KK, Town of Jefferson. Samantha J. Andrews, 19, Monroe, was westbound when she lost control of her vehicle, entered the ditch and overturned. Her vehicle sustained severe damage. It was towed. 

●  Leah T. Waelti, 85, Monroe, was transported by Green County EMS to the Monroe Clinic Emergency Room for injuries sustained from a two-vehicle crash at 5:45 p.m. on Wis. 11 and County G, Town of Spring Grove. Mason H. Hughes, 32, Freeport, was westbound on Wis. 11 and stopped his vehicle to wait so he could turn south onto County G. Waelti was traveling west behind Hughes and collided with the back of his vehicle. Hughes’ vehicle sustained disabling damage. It was towed. Waelti’s vehicle sustained disabling damage with airbag deployment. It was towed. She was cited for inattentive driving. 

●  No injuries were reported from a single-vehicle crash at 9:02 p.m. Feb. 3 in the W4700 block of Wis. 11, Town of Sylvester. Sue A. Peterson, 50, Argyle, was westbound when her vehicle exited the roadway and entered the ditch. Her vehicle sustained damage. It was towed. She was cited for failure to wear seatbelt.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — Stacie A. Berget, 36, Gratiot, reported hitting a deer at 6:41 p.m. Feb. 2 on County D, Town of Lamont. Her 2017 Chevrolet sustained minor damage. 

On Feb. 3: 

●  Argyle Fire and EMS responded for a two-vehicle accident with no injuries at 8:16 a.m. on Wis. 78, Town of Argyle. Mark L. Muench, 42, Blanchardville, was southbound when he attempted to turn into a driveway and was hit by a southbound vehicle attempting to pass him operated by Michael A. Place, 30, South Wayne. Both vehicles sustained severe damage. They were towed. Deputies and Wisconsin DNR assisted. 

●  Carl E. Fry, 41, Shullsburg, reported hitting a deer at 6:04 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of New Diggings. His 2012 Ford sustained moderate damage.
