Monroe Police

MONROE — A two-vehicle accident was reported at 4:17 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22. William E. King, 37, Monroe, was northbound in the 1100 block of 13th Avenue when he rear-ended a vehicle slowing to turn into a driveway, driven by a 49-year-old Monroe man. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage. King was cited for following too closely.


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — Bradley R. Johnson, 17, Blanchardville, reported no injuries from a one-vehicle crash in the W7600 block of Wis. 39, Town of York, at 7:17 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21. He was westbound when his vehicle hit a snowdrift in the road, left the road and hit a mailbox. The vehicle sustained damage but was driven from the scene.

●  Richard M. Rufer, 54, Monticello, reported no injuries from a one-vehicle crash in the W6200 block of County C, Town of Washington, at 8:49 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23. He was westbound when he lost control on a curve due to a mixture of slush and ice covering the road. The vehicle left the road to the north and collided with a utility pole. The airbags deployed. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was later towed. The utility pole also sustained disabling damage. Alliant Energy responded to replace it.

On Sunday, Feb. 24:

●  Troy S. Pauli, 47, New Glarus, reported no injuries from a one-vehicle crash at 3:49 a.m. in the N9300 block of Wis. 78, Town of York. He was eastbound when he swerved to avoid a deer. His vehicle entered the ditch and hit a traffic sign. The vehicle sustained functional front-end damage and was later removed by Pauli.

●  Craig A. Anderson, 48, Monroe, reported no injuries from a one-vehicle crash at 9:49 a.m. in the N1800 block of County S, Town of Jefferson. His truck was northbound hauling a hay wagon when the wagon began to tip due to high winds. The wagon went into the ditch, and the truck nearly rolled over.

DARLINGTON — On Thursday, Feb. 21:

●  A vehicle in the ditch was reported at 12:12 a.m. on County U, Town of Seymour; at 6:16 a.m. on Wis. 126, Town of Elk Grove; at 6:47 a.m. on Wis. 126, Town of Elk Grove; and at 7:07 a.m. on County G, Town of Belmont.
