Green County Sheriff

MONROE — No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle crash in the 1000 block of Wis. 69 in New Glarus at 8:25 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16. Nicholas A. Waelti, 29, Monroe, was northbound when he slowed for stopped traffic and was rear-ended by Tyler P. Perkins, 20, Hollandale. The vehicles sustained minor damage. Perkins was cited for following too close.

On Saturday, Aug. 17:

●  Walter H. Lieber, 76, and his passenger Rachel K. Palin, 51, both of Belvidere, Illinois, were injured in a single-motorcycle crash reported at 12:13 p.m. in the N1700 block of County S, Town of Jefferson. Lieber was northbound when he left the east side of the road and lost control. Lieber and Palin were transported from the scene by ambulance. They reported wearing protective eyewear and clothing but no helmets. The motorcycle sustained moderate damage and was towed. Green County EMS and the Juda Fire Department assisted deputies on scene.

●  Deputies on ATV patrol on the Tri-County Trail responded to a UTV crash at 2:41 p.m. in the W8400 block of the trail in the Town of Cadiz. Bryce E. Mitchell, 49, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was westbound when he lost control of the UTV and entered the north ditch. He reported no injuries and not wearing protective equipment or a seatbelt. The UTV sustained disabling damage and was towed. Mitchell was arrested on a charge of operating a UTV while under the influence of alcohol. He was also cited for operating a UTV with a prohibited blood-alcohol concentration. He was released to a responsible party pending court.


Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON — On Sunday, Aug. 4:

●  No injuries were reported from a semi rollover at 9:31 a.m. at South Lake Road and County G, Town of Fayette. Joshua A. Keller, 33, Mineral Point, was westbound on County G when his 2006 Kenworth semi and 2011 Walker trailer left the road and overturned onto their sides. The semi and trailer sustained disabling damage and they were towed.

On Monday, Aug. 5:

●  Minor injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at 6:32 p.m. on Wis. 11, Town of Shullsburg. Meiara L. Winston, 19, Dubuque, Iowa, swerved to miss a deer, causing her 2017 Chevrolet to go off the road into the ditch. Shullsburg EMS and the Shullsburg Fire Department assisted on scene. The vehicle, owned by McGrath Auto, sustained severe damage and was towed.

On Tuesday, Aug. 6:

●  No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at 10:43 p.m. on County O, Town of Shullsburg. Thomas N. Lange, 16, Scales Mound, failed to negotiate a turn, causing his vehicle to exit the road and come to rest in a cornfield. The 1979 Chevrolet sustained minor damage and was towed.

On Wednesday, Aug. 7:

●  Leslie A. Stiefel, 26, Warren, reported hitting a deer at 11:49 p.m. on County W, Town of New Diggings. No injuries were reported. The 1999 Chevrolet sustained moderate damage.

●  Jeffrey W. Habeck Jr., 35, Gratiot, reported hitting a raccoon at 11:52 p.m. on Wis. 23, Town of Darlington. No injuries were reported. The 2014 Volkswagen sustained moderate damage and was towed.

On Thursday, Aug. 8:

●  A one-vehicle accident with no injuries was reported at 4:35 a.m. on Wis. 81, Town of Lamont. Carlos Morales, 23, South Wayne, crossed the centerline in his 2008 Pontiac and came to rest in the north ditch. He was arrested on a first-offense charge of operating while intoxicated and a second-offense charge of driving without a valid license. He was booked at the jail, then released to a responsible party. He was also cited for driving without vehicle insurance. The Pontiac was towed.

On Friday, Aug. 9:

●  Non-life threatening injuries were reported from a one-vehicle rollover at 6:30 p.m. on Apple Grove Church Road, Town of Argyle. Bailey K. Rodebaugh, 17, Argyle, was southbound when she failed to negotiate a curve, causing the vehicle to exit the road and land upside-down in the ditch. Argyle EMS and the Argyle Fire Department assisted on scene. The 2003 Dodge sustained severe damage and was towed.

On Sunday, Aug. 11:

●  No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at 10:41 a.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Kendall. Kyle J. Carey, 39, Mineral Point, was pulling a Tandem utility trailer with his 2012 Chevrolet truck when the trailer came unhooked, left the road and came to rest in the ditch. The trailer sustained moderate damage and was towed. The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office and Mineral Point police assisted a deputy on scene.

●  A hit-and-run was reported at 1:09 p.m. on County D, Town of Fayette. Kent R. Johnson, 35, Monroe, was driving his 2019 Ford truck when another vehicle struck the Ford and continued northbound. The Ford sustained minor damage.

●  No injuries were reported from a motorcycle accident at 3:54 p.m. on County F, Town of Blanchard. Hayley D. Jacobson, 20, Cottage Grove, was eastbound on her 1991 Honda motorcycle when a westbound car crossed the centerline, forcing her to exit the roadway and come to rest in the ditch. The Honda sustained severe damage and was towed.

On Monday, Aug. 12:

●  No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle accident at 9:48 a.m. on U.S. 151, Town of Belmont. The Belmont Fire Department, Belmont EMS, Belmont police and deputies responded. Timothy P. Lundell, 47, Livingston, was southbound in his 2015 Chevrolet pulling a trailer when he was struck by a 1994 Peterbilt truck driven by Daniel K. Henson, 33, Johnson Creek. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and were towed. Henson was cited for inattentive driving.
