BRODHEAD — On Aug. 6:

•  No injuries were reported in an accident at 2:29 p.m. on the 1900 block of West 4th Avenue. A 61-year-old Brodhead man was issued a warning for failure to yield at a stop sign. 


Green County Sheriff

MONROE — On Aug. 11:

•  No injuries were reported in a single-vehicle crash at 1:35 a.m. on the N300 Block of West River Road in Cadiz Township. Carl J. Klenz, 21, Ridott, Illinois, was operating southbound on West River Road when he failed to negotiate the curve. The vehicle exited the roadway and collided with a utility pole. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Klenz was wearing his seatbelt.  Alliant Energy assisted. 

On Aug. 12:

•  Injuries were reported in an animal vs. vehicle accident at 2:02 p.m. on the N800 block of Wis. 69 in Clarno. Gregory W. Schlafer, 68, Morrison, Illinois, was traveling southbound on Wis. 69 when a deer entered the roadway and collided with his vehicle. Schlafer sustained injuries from the crash and an adult passenger in the vehicle was not injured. Both subjects reported wearing seat belts. The vehicle sustained damage and was left at the scene. 

On Aug. 13:

•  Injuries were reported in a single vehicle crash at 10:46 a.m. on the W1600 block of King Road in Brooklyn. Kyle D. Allen, 54, Brooklyn, was traveling westbound on King Road when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. Allen lost control of the vehicle, which came to rest in the south ditch. Allen reported wearing his seat belt and sustained injuries in the crash. The vehicle sustained damage and was towed from the scene. The airbags deployed in the vehicle. Allen was arrested for operating while under the influence, 3rd offense. Allen was cited for failure to maintain control of vehicle. Allen was transported to the Green County Jail and he was released after posting bond.

On Aug. 14:

•  No injuries were reported in a single vehicle crash at 6:55 a.m. on County C and Brooklyn Albany Road in Brooklyn. Brandon L. Dawson, 31, Milwaukee, was eastbound on County C when he failed to negotiate a curve at Brooklyn Albany Road. Dawson struck a sign then entered the ditch, striking a fence post where the vehicle became disabled. Dawson then left the scene. Dawson was not injured in the crash and was wearing his seat belt. The vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene. Dawson was cited for failure to maintain control, failure to notify police of a crash, and operating a motor vehicle without a license. Dawson was released pending court. 

•  No injuries were reported in a car vs. semi accident at 8:13 a.m. on the W6600 block of Wis. 11 in Monroe. Steven L Goodrich, 69, Gratiot, was westbound when the vehicle in front of him braked suddenly and he proceeded to brake as well. Scott M. McDonald, 34, Darlington, was westbound operating a semi-tractor and trailer and could not stop in time and rear-ended Goodrich’s vehicle. Both Goodrich and McDonald were wearing seat belts and were not injured in the crash. There was no air bag deployment. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and were driven from the scene. 


New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS — On Aug. 7:

•  No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident at 12:02 p.m. at the intersection of 2nd street and 5th avenue. Maximillian S. Waller, 20, Monroe, was cited for inattentive driving with his Fiat car rear-ended a Honda Van. Both vehicles were driven from the scene.
