William Oscar Bell, 66, of Monticello, died February 10th, 2013 with his family and friends by his side. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. followed by lunch at Washington Reformation United Church of Christ in Monticello.
He was born on February 5th, 1947 in Duncan, OK to Mary Jo and Dr. Franklin Earl Bell. He is survived by his wife Cherri, son Ben, daughter-in-law Terra, grandson Brady, sister Sallie and brother-in-law Monnie.
William was a highly decorated officer in the US Army. His distinctions include the Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, 3 Purple Hearts, a Vietnam Air Medal, a Good Conduct Ribbon, a National Defense Ribbon, a Combat Infantry Badge and an Army Commendation with "V".
He was also a proud member of the American Legion, AMVETS of New Glarus, Monticello Lions Club, Monticello Community Club and a member of Washington Reformation UCC.
William spent his last years establishing the Silver Star Vineyards, which he and his wife created on their farm in Monticello, Wisconsin.
