Wallace Olen Reid, age 83 of Browntown, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. He was born February 28, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Olen Parker and Barbara (Guyan) Reid and attended DeKalb, IL High School.
Wallace and Ella Aileen Spiller were married on December 24, 1947 at her folk's home in Melrose Park, IL on his folk's 25th Anniversary. They farmed at Waterman, IL and then moved to Browntown in 1980. Wallace was a member of the Silver Star Grange and Farm Bureau.
Surviving are his wife, Ella Aileen Reid of Browntown, WI; son, Tommy L. Reid of Nevada and David (Janice) Reid of Browntown, WI; sister, Lillian (Emmett) Long of Bakersfield, CA; sister-in-law, Wanda Irene Reid; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Dorothy Clay in 1983; and brothers, George Reid in 2005 and Edwin Reid in 2007; and sister-in-law Phyllis Reid in 2005.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 2, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Booth of Monroe United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb, Illinois. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Friday at the funeral home.
