ROCKFORD - Virginia M. Keppner died Saturday afternoon, June 14, 2008 in her son's home. Born in Monroe, WI, the daughter of Arthur and Bertha (Bohren) Thoman. Married Melvin C. Keppner in Freeport, IL on October 1, 1950. She worked for 59 years at Barber Colman, later named Invensys and now known as TAC.
Survivors include, son and daughter-in-law, Lieutenant Colonel Michael and Laura Keppner; grandson Nicholas Keppner; sister, Judy (Ronald) Holcomb; and nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Melvin; parents; and sister, Eleanor.
Funeral service 2 p.m. Saturday, June 21 in Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Rd., Machesney Park, IL with entombment following in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made in care of the family.
