Violet M. Boegli, age 89, of Monroe died Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Monroe Clinic Hospital. She was born on March 30, 1922 in Wiota Township, Wisconsin the daughter of John L. and Mary (Youngblood) Meyers and was a 1941 graduate of Monroe High School. Violet and Leon A. Boegli were married on October 20, 1942 in Monroe, Wisconsin. She farmed with her husband Leon for many years and later owned and operated the Jug Grocery Store, and also worked at Oaktron, and The Monroe Times.

Violet enjoyed gardening, sewing and taking care of the animals on the farm, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Henry (Lynne) Boegli of Blythedale, Mo; Larry (Vicki) Boegli of Brodhead, Vivian (Beeri) Bunker of Freeport, IL; sister, Vera Frei of Argyle, 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; 2 brothers, Henry and Laudon; a sister, Mary Martin; and a daughter-in-law, Martha Boegli.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. on Monday, February 13, 2012 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Dr. and 18th Ave. in Monroe, Wisconsin with Rev. David Busker officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 12, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home in Monroe.
