Vic Ingwell, age 72 of Monroe, died Thursday evening, January 24, 2008 surrounded by family after a two year battle with lung cancer.

Vic was born March 4, 1935 in Blanchardville, Wisconsin, to Martin and Venora (Larson) Ingwell. He attended schools in Blanchardville and Monroe and entered the U.S. Air Force in 1952. While in the service he was stationed in France and was honorably discharged in August, 1956. He worked for General Motors for 31 years until his retirement and then was employed part time for Monroe Truck Equipment for several years. Vic married the former Judith Hunt and from this union three children were born, Jay, Jody, and Vincent. He married the former Vicki (Hawkins) Clark in 1976. Vic enjoyed being with his family, golfing, bowling, and showing his "64 Riv" at car shows and cruise nights. Vic was an avid Packer and Badger fan, was a faithful blood donor having donated more than 24 gallons, and was a volunteer at Monroe Clinic Hospital for several years. He is survived by his wife, Vicki Ingwell of Monroe; children, Jay Ingwell of Las Vegas, NV, Jody Hauser of Barneveld, and Vincent Ingwell (Marnie Vincent) of Mt. Horeb; a step-son, Dan (Angie) Clark of New Glarus; three grandchildren, Alan and Amber Ingwell of Las Vegas and Cody Ingwell of Monroe; two step-grandchildren, Zach and Ashley Clark of New Glarus; two great-grandchildren, Sammy and Amaiya; three brothers, Marvin (Terri) Ingwell of Monroe, Don Ingwell of Cary, IL, Bill (Jill) Kilian of Monroe; three sisters, Mavis Riese , Marion Stafford, both of Monroe, and Norma (Buck) Connor of Freeport, IL. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents in 1964 and his mother-in-law, Doris Hawkins in 2004.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2008, at 11 a.m., at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe with Pastor Mary Gafner officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. There will be a gathering at the Monroe Moose Lodge following the service. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.
