BRODHEAD - Vera L. Noonan, age 93, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2010, at Woods Crossing Nursing Home, Brodhead. She was born on July 17, 1916 at home in Spring Grove Township, Green County, WI, the daughter of Clayton and Iva (Nolty) Clark. Her first marriage was to Elmer Stahlecker on December 26, 1933 in Durand, IL. He passed away on August 16, 1968. She then married Stanley Noonan on July 20, 1979 in Monroe, WI. He passed away on September 24, 1984.

Vera was a member of the former Trinity Lutheran Church (Stateline) and Bethany Lutheran Church, rural Brodhead, Bethany Ladies Aid, and Brodhead Thursday Afternoon Ladies Bowling League. She farmed with her first husband in the stateline area, and had worked at Witte's Nursing Home and the Harris House, both in Brodhead. Vera loved to embroider, quilt, bowl, her cats, traveling to Hawaii, Las Vegas, many car and train trips, and enjoyed day trips to Dubuque. She especially loved her family and loved hosting holiday dinners. She was the life of the party and always made everyone laugh.

She is survived by her sister, Edith Paulson-Zimmerman and sister-in-law, Pearl Clark, both of Brodhead; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brothers, Raymond Clark, Royal "Pete" Clark, Charlie Clark, Stanley Clark and a sister, Verna Eggemeier.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 21, 2010, at Bethany Lutheran Church, rural Brodhead, with Pastor Larry Froemming officiating. Burial will be in the Stateline Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at the D.L. NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, BRODHEAD, WI, and at the church from 10 a.m. until time of services.

We will miss her dearly.
