BRODHEAD - Two Beloit men were arrested early Thursday, Dec. 22, on drug possession charges following a single-vehicle crash near Brodhead that injured one, according to the Rock County Sheriff.

Deshaun L. Easter, 34, and David Winters, Jr., 26, face charges of possessing 35 pills of what officials later said tested positive as MDMA, commonly known as Ecstasy, and four small bindles of a powder that tested positive as a cocaine base.

Easter is also charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, his seventh such charge, and OWI Causing Great Bodily Harm.

Brodhead EMS transported Winters to Beloit Hospital with head injuries sustained in the crash. He was later taken to a hospital in Madison.

Reports indicate Rock County deputies and Brodhead police officers were dispatched at 1:34 a.m. to Wisconsin 81 east of South County T in the Town of Avon, where they found a white minivan that appeared to have rolled over at an unknown location and was then driven until it came to stop.

Easter is scheduled to appear in Rock County court at 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23.
