Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Keith C. Schuchardt, 24, Madison, was arrested for drunken driving and driving too fast for conditions following a one-vehicle accident at about 1:45 a.m. Saturday in the W5800 block of County H. Deputies report his vehicle failed to negotiate a curve and hit an embankment. He was taken to Monroe Clinic for injuries. The vehicle received extensive damage and was towed. He was released pending court.

• One person was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 7:45 a.m. Saturday on County J near Kuenzi Lane. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Michael Elzen, 17, Mount Horeb, left the road, hit a culvert and overturned after he fell asleep. Elzen sustained injuries but declined medical transport. The vehicle received extensive damage and was towed.

• One person was injured while riding an all-terrain vehicle at about 11 a.m. Saturday on the Cheese Country Trail. Deputies report an ATV driven by Matthew L. Nieman, 35, Freeport, Ill.,, overturned when Nieman tried to avoid a tree that had fallen on the trail. He was taken to Monroe Clinic for injuries. The ATV received moderate damage.

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle accident that took place Friday in the W4600 block of Skinner Hollow Road and was reported Sunday at about 8 a.m. Deputies report the mirror on a truck driven by Wyllie F. McMicken, 77, Monroe, hit the mirror on a truck driven by John R. Lanz, 37, Monroe. The vehicles received minor damage.

• A vehicle driven by Allen V. Schuler, 63, New Glarus, hit a deer at about 10:15 p.m. Sunday on Wisconsin 69 near Hefty Road. The vehicle received moderate damage.

• A vehicle driven by Linda L. Duffy, 69, Belleville, hit a deer at about 4:30 p.m. Saturday on Primrose Road east of County C. The vehicle received minor damage.

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Six people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 3:45 p.m. Sunday at Wis. 23 and Short Cut Road. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Kimberly J. Jones, 39, Darlington, pulled into the path of a vehicle driven by James L. Jacobson, 76 Highland. Jacobson, Jones and passengers Joane E. Gilbertson, 70, Cobb; and Brett M. Jones, age unknown, Lauren M. Jones, 5 and Brady D. Jones, 1, all of Darlington, sustained injuries. Brady Jones was taken to Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County. Kimberly Jones was cited for failure to yield the right of way. Both vehicles received extensive damage and were towed. The Darlington fire Department assisted at the scene.

• Julie A. Mason, 26, Argyle, was arrested for drunken driving following a one-vehicle accident at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday on Wis. 78 in Argyle township. Deputies report her vehicle left the road, went into a ditch and overturned. Mason sustained minor injuries. Her vehicle received extensive damage and was towed. The Argyle Fire Department and Argyle Emergency Medical Services assisted at the scene.

• Joseph W. Tuescher, 61, South Wayne, was arrested for drunken driving following a one-vehicle accident at about 9 p.m. Friday on Wis. 11 in South Wayne. Deputies report he was backing his vehicle from a business when it crossed the road and hit a retaining wall. He was taken to Monroe Clinic for injuries. The vehicle received extensive damage. The South Wayne Fire Department, South Wayne First Response and Green County EMS assisted at the scene.

• A vehicle driven by Angela M. Woodward, 37, Shullsburg, hit a deer at about 6 p.m. Saturday on Wis. 11 in New Diggins township. The vehicle received moderate damage.

• A vehicle driven by Sherri M. Johnsrud, 45, Browntown, hit a cow at about 1:45 a.m. Sunday on Wis. 78 in Wiota township. The vehicle received extensive damage and was towed. The cow walked away and could not be located.
