MONROE - On Sunday:

• Michael A. Peterson, 21, Brodhead, sustained injuries but refused treatment following a one-truck crash in the N3800 block of Park Road, Town of Decatur. Deputies responded to the pickup truck that had very severe damage but Peterson had fled the scene prior to law enforcement's arrival. Peterson was later found at his residence and was arrested for driving while intoxicated, second offense, driving with a revoked license, failure to report an accident and failure to maintain control of a vehicle. Peterson was released pending court. Brodhead police and fire departments and EMS responded to the scene of the crash.

• No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident in the 1300 block of Wisconsin 78, Village of Gratiot, at 9:30 a.m. Investigation determined that Brett L. Broge, 25, Gratiot, was northbound and following a vehicle driven by Elisabeth Grace Anderson, 24, Argyle. Reports indicate Anderson abruptly braked to avoid a cow and a person in the roadway. Broge braked and attempted to avoid Anderson's vehicle by veering into the southbound lane, but was forced to return to the northbound lane to avoid the cow and person in the road. Broge's vehicle then hit Anderson's vehicle. Both vehicles sustained moderate to severe damage and were towed from the scene. No citations were issued.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Friday:

• Dale A. Cwynar, 51, Argyle, was uninjured in a deer vs. vehicle accident on County G, Blanchardville Township, at 5:02 a.m. The vehicle was driven from the scene.

• Gavin R. Birkbeck, Galena, Ill., received non life-threatening injuries in a one-vehicle crash on Buncombe Road, Benton Township. Birkbeck was eastbound when his vehicle failed to negotiate a curve and he lost control. The vehicle entered the right ditch line sideways and rolled, coming to rest on its wheels. Birkbeck was transported via Hazel Green EMS to Southwest Health Center for treatment of his injuries. He was cited at 6:50 a.m. for failure to maintain control of a vehicle. His vehicle was towed from the scene. Benton Fire and First Response assisted at the scene.

• A Monroe man was transported to Memorial Hospital after deputies found his vehicle in the ditch on Wisconsin 11, Gratiot Township. Andrew T. Johnson, 49, was the driver of the vehicle in the ditch and had to be transported for a health issue. The passenger, Clayton A. Johnson, 29, Monroe, was arrested at 2:18 p.m. for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

• Dawn R. Blotz, 42, Darlington, was uninjured in a deer vs. vehicle accident that occurred on County D, Fayette Township, at 9:29 p.m. Blotz's vehicle was towed from the scene.

• No injuries were reported in a one-vehicle accident on County F, Township of Darlington. Deputies responded to a vehicle in the ditch and cited the driver Andres De Jesus Cervantes-Rodriguez, 24, Darlington, for driving while intoxicated and driving without a valid license at 12:40 p.m. Saturday.

On Monday:

• No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident on East Main Street, Village of Benton, at 10:50 a.m. Alice L. Barr-Blair, 78, Salinas, Calif., was eastbound on Wis. 11 and sideswiped a legally parked school bus. Both vehicles received minor damage.

• Jessica A. Kohl, 28, Gratiot, was uninjured after she reported hitting a deer on Wis. 78, Gratiot Township at 8:26 p.m.



New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident in the 1400 block of 2nd Street at 6:38 p.m. Friday. Richard F. Arn, 77, New Glarus, was driving a New Glarus school bus when his passenger-side mirror hit another school bus. There was minor damage to the bus Arn was driving and no damage to the other school bus.
