Monroe Police

MONROE - Police were dispatched at 5:14 p.m. Monday to 8th Street and 8th Avenue for a hit-and-run vehicle accident. Reports indicate that a vehicle hit a fire hydrant and fled the scene. The driver was identified as Jeremy A. Diaz, 19, Monroe. He was arrested for obstructing an officer, bail jumping and cited for several traffic violations. Diaz was jailed. During the investigation, police also arrested Emily A. McGoff, 29, Monroe, for obstructing an officer. McGoff was released.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Monday, Sept. 15

• No injuries were reported at 6:47 a.m. for an accident on Wisconsin 81, west of County M, in the Town of Jordan. Christine E. Langemo, 54, Argyle, was westbound on Wis. 81 when she hit a deer. The vehicle received severe damage and was driven from the scene.

• Injuries were reported at 2:01 p.m. during an accident in the W2600 block of County F in the Town of Mt. Pleasant. Thomas W.M. Cozzens, 18, Monroe, was negotiating a curve when he lost control on a large amount of mud on the roadway. The vehicle left the roadway, rolled onto the passenger side then fell back onto its wheels. Cozzens was the only occupant in the vehicle. He suffered injuries but did not seek medical treatment. The vehicle received moderate damage and it was towed from the scene. The crash is being investigated as to who was responsible for the mud on the highway.

• Deputies responded at 3:52 p.m. to the N3400 block of Wis. 104 in the Town of Decatur for a vehicle accident. Anthony R. Dollak, 55, Sun Prairie, was behind a milk truck driven by James M. Munn, 57, Orfordville, who was northbound on Wis. 104. Dollak went to pass the milk truck and did not realize the truck was going to make a left turn. Dollak stated he swerved into a driveway to avoid the milk truck but hit it anyway. Dollak left the scene and continued northbound on Wis. 104. Dollak's vehicle received moderate damage and the milk truck driven had very little damage. Both vehicles were driven from the scene. Dollak was later located and will be cited for hit-and-run of an occupied motor vehicle. The Brodhead and Brooklyn police departments assisted in the investigation.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Monday, Sept. 15:

• Deputies responded to a hit-and-run to a power pole 2:43 a.m. on Roaster Road in Benton Township. During the investigation, a deputy located a subject walking on Roaster Road. Alejandrino Hernandez-Trujillo, 45, Darlington, was cited for driving after suspension, driving a vehicle without insurance, hit-and-run to a property adjacent to the highway, failing to report an accident and failing to keep a vehicle under control. Alliant Energy assisted at the scene.

• Audrey Bennett, 54, Shullsburg, reported hitting a deer 4:35 a.m. on County E in Shullsburg Township.

• Deputies were dispatched at 1:22 p.m. to County D in the Township of Lamont for a vehicle accident with injuries. Donald M Thompson, 36, Darlington, was southbound on County D. He was negotiating a curve on the wet road when he lost control. Thompson's vehicle crossed the center of the roadway, entered the northbound ditch, overturned and came to rest back on its wheels. Rural Medical Ambulance Service and Darlington Fire Department assisted. Thompson's 1997 Ford truck received damage and was towed from the scene.

• John G. Paulson, 59, Gratiot, reported hitting a deer at 8:02 p.m. on Wis. 11 in Wayne Township.
