MONROE - On Friday:

• Minor injuries were reported at 11:50 a.m. during an accident at North 18th Avenue and 1st Street. A vehicle driven by Robert P. Bennett, 26, Monticello, hit a vehicle driven by an 84-year-old male driver from Lena. A passenger in Bennett's vehicle, Francesca R. Swenson, 23, Monroe, was transported to the hospital by ambulance for non-life threatening injuries. Bennett was cited for driving without a valid driver's license, inattentive driving, not wearing a seatbelt and obstructing an officer. Swenson was cited for obstructing an officer. Both vehicles received severe damage and were towed from the scene.

• No injuries were reported at 3:34 p.m. during an accident at Wisconsin 69 and 30th Street. A vehicle driven by April N. Buri, 17, Browntown, pulled out from a stop sign in front of a southbound vehicle driven by an 82-year-old female from Evanston, Ill. The southbound vehicle swerved to avoid an accident, went off the road and hit several trees, causing moderate damage to her vehicle. Buri was cited for failing to yield the right-away from a stop sign.

• No injuries were reported at 6:26 p.m. during a vehicle accident at 12th Street and 20th Avenue. A vehicle driven by Trenity J. Wright, 23, Monroe, hit a vehicle driven by a 48-year-old male driver of Monroe. Wright was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

• No injuries were reported at 6:43 p.m. during a vehicle accident at 13th Street and 17th Avenue. A vehicle driven by Robert P. Bevins, 46, Monroe, hit a vehicle driven by a 72-year-old female driver of Monroe. Bevins was cited for driving after suspension and having no insurance. The vehicles received minor to severe damage.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - No injuries were reported at 11:55 p.m. Saturday for a car vs. deer in the N3300 block of County N in the Town of Monroe. Garret D. Crandall, 29, Monroe, was southbound on County N, when he hit a deer. The car received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

• Deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash at 3:28 p.m. Sunday on Wisconsin 69 North of County FF in the Town of Monroe. Reports indicate that Jonathan E. Fairbanks, 26, Monticello, was northbound on Wis. 69 when he failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway. The vehicle hit a fence and caused damage to a soybean field. Fairbanks and his passenger reported no injuries. The vehicle received severe front-end damage and it was towed from the scene. Fairbanks was cited for failing to maintain control and having no motor vehicle insurance. He was also arrested on a Dane County warrant for failing to support. Fairbanks was jailed.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Saturday:

• A deputy responded to a one-vehicle accident at 1:02 a.m. on Wis. 11 in Wayne Township. Laura R. Strause, 41, Gratiot, reported hitting two deer. Strause reported no injuries.

• A deputy, Mineral Point Ambulance Service and Mineral Point Fire Department were alerted to a one-vehicle accident with injuries at 5:31 p.m. on Wis. 23 in Willow Springs Township. Jamie L. Oates, 39, Darlington, was driving the vehicle.
