Green County Sheriff

MONROE - No injuries were reported from a one-vehicle accident at about at about 7:30 p.m. Thursday on County K, east of County S in the Town of Jefferson. Deputies report Mathew P. Thies, 27, Monroe, was westbound on County K, negotiating a curve, when he saw three deer standing in the roadway. He attempted to swerve to miss them, but ended up entering the north ditch and going down a steep embankment, striking several smalls trees before coming to a rest. The vehicle received severe damage and was towed from the scene.

• A vehicle driven by Donald J. Vollmer, 64, New Glarus, and a deer collided at about 6:45 p.m. Thursday on Wisconsin 39 east of Wis. 78 in the Town of York. The vehicle received moderate damage and was driven from the scene. Vollmer was cited for mandatory seatbelt violation and was released pending court.

• A vehicle driven by Ronald E. Fernstaedt, 46, Monroe, and a deer collided at about 6:45 p.m. Thursday on Wis. 11 near Cadiz Springs Road in the Town of Cadiz Township. The vehicle received minor damage and was driven from the scene.

• A vehicle driven by Julie A. Shipe-McClain, 40, Monticello, and a deer collided at about 7 p.m. Thursday on Wis. 11 near Cadiz Springs Road in the Town of Cadiz. The vehicle received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

• A vehicle driven by Megan R. Christen, 28, Argyle, and a deer collided at about 9:15 p.m. Thursday on County M near Stage Coach Road in the Town of Adams. The vehicle received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

Lafayette County Sheriff

• No injuries were reported in a hit-and-run accident at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday on North Road in the Town of Wiota. Deputies report an unknown vehicle backed in to a vehicle e owned by Angela L. Gile, 41, Onalaska. the vehicle received minor damage and was driven form the scene.
