Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Nicola Rugo, 46, Brodhead, was cited 2:41 a.m. Saturday for failure to maintain control of a vehicle, failure to notify police of an accident and driving without insurance after his vehicle ran into a tree in the W800 block of Golf Course Road, Town of Decatur. Deputies located the vehicle but Rugo had fled the scene. The vehicle was severely damaged and was impounded. Rugo was uninjured in the crash and was released pending court.

• Dale W. Emmerton, 53, New Glarus, and his passenger were uninjured in a one-vehicle crash in the N7700 block of Marshal Bluff Road, Town of Exeter. Emmerton was northbound on a private driveway when he lost control of his vehicle in a curve due to the icy roadway. Emmerton's vehicle left the driveway and hit several small trees. The vehicle was moderately damaged and was driven from the scene.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Heather Bowles, 26, Shullsburg, was uninjured in a one-vehicle accident on Roaster Road, Benton Township, at 10:12 a.m. Friday. Bowles was eastbound when she lost control of her vehicle on the slippery road and traveled into the ditch hitting a snowbank. The vehicle received minor damage.

• Lawrence Cruse, 56, Platteville, reported hitting a deer with his vehicle on County W, Benton Township, at 6:45 p.m. Saturday.

On Sunday:

• Three people were cited for open intoxicants in a vehicle after deputies responded to a vehicle in the ditch on Wisconsin 81, Elk Grove Township. Lucila Flores-Garcia, 28; Luis Leon-Martinez, 26; Francisco Gonzalez, 19, and Antonio Avelino, 23, all of Darlington, were cited for open intoxicants. Gonzalez was also cited for underage drinking and driving without a valid license. All subjects were booked at the jail and released. Gonzalez's vehicle sustained minor damage and was towed from the scene.

• Jeremy Winslow, 33, Gratiot, was cited at 2:40 a.m. for driving while intoxicated and failure to have control of a vehicle after deputies responded to a vehicle in the ditch on Wisconsin 78, Wiota Township. The vehicle received minor damage and was towed from the scene.

• Reid Hingtgen, 22, Dubuque, was cited at 4:33 a.m. for driving while intoxicated following a one-truck accident on South Galena Road, Elk Grove Township. Hingtgen was jailed pending court. The truck was severely damaged and was towed from the scene.



New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - Lavern F. Wagner, 64, New Glarus, was arrested at 12:08 a.m. Feb. 23 for driving while intoxicated, first offense, after police responded to a vehicle in the ditch at the cemetery on 7th Street at 7th Avenue. Wagner was later released to a responsible party.
