Monroe Police

MONROE - Minor injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident on 25th Avenue and 2nd Street. Karla A. Vansmith, 50, Monroe, was cited at 5:29 p.m. Tuesday for failure to yield right-of-way from a stop sign after her vehicle hit a vehicle driven by a 23-year-old man from Monroe. Minor injuries were reported but medical attention was declined at the scene. Both vehicles were severely damaged and one was towed from the scene.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Tuesday:

• Joel L. Spangler, 45, Monroe, was uninjured in a deer vs. car crash that occurred in the W7800 block of Wisconsin 11, Town of Cadiz, at 4:06 a.m. Spangler was westbound when a deer ran into the roadway and hit his car. The car was moderately damaged and was driven from the scene. Monroe Police assisted at the scene.

• One person sustained non life-threatening injuries in a two-vehicle accident in the N5000 block of Wisconsin 69, Town of Washington, at 8:26 p.m. Todd R. Hanson, 51, Monroe, was southbound and passed a semi being driven by Chad A. Stephenson, 27, South Wayne. After Hanson passed the semi and returned to the slow lane, he immediately braked to avoid hitting numerous deer in the roadway. Stephenson was unable to stop in time and rear-ended Hanson's vehicle. Hanson was transported by Green County EMS to Monroe Clinic Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Hanson's vehicle was severely damage and towed from the scene. Stephenson was uninjured in the crash, and the semi sustained very minor damage and was driven from the scene.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Tina Komprood, 43, Darlington, reported hitting a deer with her vehicle on County G, Willow Springs Township, at 8:35 p.m. Tuesday.
