Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Injuries were reported after a two-vehicle accident Friday in the W8200 block of Wisconsin 11, Town of Cadiz. Green County deputies, Browntown and South Wayne First Response, along with Green County EMS, responded to the crash at 4:22 p.m. Reports indicate that Dennis G. Gensler, 60, Shullsburg, was westbound on Wis. 11 when a car driven by Robert W. Chaddick, 76, Browntown, made a left turn in front of Gensler. The two vehicles collided. Gensler was injured and was not wearing a seatbelt. Gensler's airbag deployed. Chaddick was was also injured in the crash. Both drivers were transported by EMS to the Monroe Clinic ER. Both vehicles sustained severe damage and were towed from the scene. Gensler was cited for failure to wear his seatbelt. Chaddick will be cited for failure to yield while making a left turn.

• Deputies responded to a vehicle vs. guardrail crash at 9:56 p.m. Saturday in the W100 block of County T, Town of Spring Grove. A car was southbound on County T when the driver hit the guardrail on the west side of the road. The vehicle then went across the road and hit the guardrail on the east side of the road. There were two occupants in the vehicle, according to a bystander who came across the crash. The occupants reportedly got into another car that had stopped and fled northbound on County T. The car sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene. Anyone with information regarding this crash is encouraged to contact the Green County Sheriff's Office.

On Sunday:

• No injuries were reported after a deputy responded to a vehicle vs. ditch/fence at 12:19 a.m. in the N7600 block of County N, Town of New Glarus. Reports indicate that Tyler J. Grindle, 22, Belleville, was northbound on County N when a deer entered the roadway as he was negotiating a curve. Grindle swerved to miss the deer, traveled across the southbound lane and entered the ditch. The vehicle collided with the ditch and a fence post. Grindle drove the vehicle from the scene and reported the crash from his residence after observing the damage. The vehicle sustained moderate damage. Belleville Police assisted with the case.

• No injuries were reported after a deputy responded to a vehicle vs. deer crash at 9:24 p.m. to Wis. 11, west of Mount Hope Road, Town of Spring Grove. Reports indicate that Katie A. Gilbertson, 26, Monroe, was traveling westbound on Wis. 11 when she hit a deer. The vehicle sustained moderate front driver's side damage and was driven from the scene.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Saturday:

• Injuries were reported after a one-vehicle accident on County XX in Belmont Township. Donald R. Banister, 24, Lancaster, traveled into a ditch, down an embankment and through a fence into a pasture. Banister tried to exit the pasture but was stuck in the ditch. Banister was transported to the hospital by Platteville Ambulance. Banister's 2000 Impala sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene. Banister was cited for failing to have control and having no valid driver's license.

• Heather C. Alderson, 34, Mineral Point, reported at 1:19 a.m. that she hit a cow on County XX, Belmont Township. The cow was out due to a previous accident. Alderson's 2000 Durango sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.

• Todd J. Richmond, 59, Platteville, was injured in a motorcycle accident at 5:39 p.m. on Holland Road, Kendall Township. Richmond was approaching a stop sign when his motorcycle's brakes locked up, causing the motorcycle to turn on its side and slide through the intersection. Richmond's Yamaha sustained damage and was towed from the scene. Richmond was transported to the hospital. Belmont Fire Department and Belmont Ambulance assisted at the scene.
