Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Two people were injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 11:45 a.m. Thursday in the N7200 block of County E. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Cynthia Kauten, 24, Albany, failed to negotiate a curve, left the road and hit a tree. The vehicle then caught fire and was destroyed. Kauten and her passenger, David T. Kauten, 1, Albany, were taken to Monroe Clinic for injuries. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - One person was injured in a two-vehicle accident around 9 p.m. Thursday on County XX in Belmont township. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Danny B. Lancaster, 31, Platteville, was following a vehicle when he hit it. Both vehicles left the road. Lancaster's vehicle hit a power pole and received extensive damage. The other vehicle received minor damage. All subjects left the scene of the accident. Lancaster was later located and had been taken to Southwest Health Center for injuries. The name of the other driver was not known at press time. Citations are pending and the crash remains under investigation.
