Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Friday:

• Tito D. Veasey, 39, Hainesville, Ill., was uninjured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred on Wisconsin 92 near Glenway Road, Town of Brooklyn, at 3:36 a.m. Veasey reported he swerved to miss a deer, lost control of his vehicle, went off the roadway and hit a road sign. The vehicle was moderately damaged and driven from the scene.

• Kyle C. Baker, 51, Monroe, was uninjured in a deer vs. vehicle crash in the N6100 block of Wis. 69, Mount Pleasant Township, at 8:07 p.m. Baker was southbound when a deer ran into the roadway and hit his vehicle. His vehicle sustained moderate damage, and due to fluid loss, the vehicle was later towed from the scene.

• Kenneth E. Thomas, 44, Monroe, and his passengers were uninjured in a truck vs. deer accident that occurred in the W6500 block of Wis. 11, Town of Clarno at 8:36 p.m.

On Saturday:

• Janet E. Fenwick, 60, Brodhead, sustained non-life-threatening injuries in a one-vehicle accident on Decatur Albany Road east of County F, Albany Township, at 6:58 p.m. Fenwick was southbound on County F, and when she turned east onto Decatur Albany Road, a cooler in the back seat turned over. Fenwick told deputies she reached back to stop the water from spilling out when her vehicle went into the north ditch. Fenwick reported an injury but declined transport by Albany EMS. The vehicle was severely damaged and towed from the scene. Albany Fire Department assisted on scene.

• A 9-year-old boy from Belleville was injured in an ATV accident in the N8800 block of Schilt Road, Town of Exeter, at 8:40 p.m. The boy was southbound in the road ditch when he turned to go around a mailbox and fell off the ATV. The Kawasaki ATV then ran over the boy's leg. He was wearing a helmet and was transported to the Monroe Clinic emergency room by a private vehicle.

On Sunday:

• James R. Stauffer, 45, Browntown, was uninjured in a deer vs. truck crash that occurred on West River Road north of Lincicum Road, Cadiz Township, at 12:41 a.m. Stauffer was northbound on West River Road when a deer ran into the roadway and hit his truck. The impact killed the deer and caused moderate damage to Stauffer's pickup, which was later driven from the scene.

• No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident in the W5200 block of Allison Road, Washington Township. David J. Lehr, 53, Monticello had stopped to assist Brent Charles Strohrigl, 22, Janesville, whose vehicle was stuck in the ditch. As Lehr attempted to pull Strohrigl's vehicle out of the ditch, Strohrigl accelerated too much and hit the driver's side of Lehr's vehicle. Strohrigl's vehicle was moderately damaged and removed from the scene. Lehr's truck sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene. Strohrigl was cited at 9:48 p.m. for no insurance, unsafe backing and driving a vehicle by permittee during dark without an instructor. He was released pending court.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Friday:

• No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident on County XX, Belmont Township, at 9:34 a.m. Justin B. Cook, 50, Shullsburg, was following Judith K. Bellmeyer, 69, Platteville; Cook started to pass Bellmeyer in a passing lane when Bellmeyer's vehicle turned in front of Cook. Cook's 2001 Mack was driven from the scene. Bellmeyer's 1998 Mercury was towed from the scene. Belmont's fire department, ambulance and police assisted on scene.

• Dennis L. Sauer, 51, Darlington, was uninjured in a deer vs. vehicle crash that occurred on Woodberry Road, Lamont Township, at 8:03 p.m.

• Trent A. Ubersox, 25, Shullsburg, was uninjured in a raccoon vs. vehicle accident that occurred on Aetna Road, New Diggings Township, at 9 p.m.

• Deputies investigated a suspicious vehicle complaint on Country Club Road, Darlington Township, at 4:13 a.m. Saturday. After locating the vehicle in a private driveway, it was determined the vehicle had been involved in an accident prior to being parked. The 2010 Ford Fusion was moderately damaged and towed from the scene to be impounded. A suspect driver was located near the vehicle, but the subject denied being the driver. Two separate accidents were identified within a mile of the recovered vehicle. The incident remains under investigation. The person found near the vehicle was turned over to a responsible party.
