Monroe Police

MONROE - No injuries were reported in a two-vehicle accident in the 300 block of 8th Street. Nancy J. Anderson, 73, Monroe, was driving a vehicle that hit a vehicle driven by a 31-year-old man from Madison. Anderson was cited at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, for failure to yield right-of-way from a stop sign.



Green County Sheriff

MONROE - On Saturday:

• Ronald F. Ray, 46, Darlington, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash in the W4500 block of Wittenwyler Road, Town of Mount Pleasant. Ray was westbound when he attempted to avoid a deer and entered the north ditch. The vehicle hit a rocky portion of the ditch causing severe damage to the front of the vehicle and the underbody. Ray reportedly continued to drive about 150 yards with a severely damaged front tire. Ray was cited at 4:48 a.m. for failure to maintain control of a vehicle and driving without proof of insurance. He was released pending court. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

• Mark L. Krebs, 57, Monroe, was uninjured in a deer vs. pickup truck accident that occurred on Wisconsin 69 south of Benkert Road, Town of Monroe. Krebs was northbound on Wis. 69 when two deer ran into the highway. The second deer hit Krebs' truck causing severe damage to the passenger-side of the truck. The truck was driven from the scene.

• Dean C. Fuchs, 48, New Glarus, was arrested at 7:14 p.m. for driving under the influence, first offense, driving with a prohibited alcohol concentration and possession of open intoxicants in a vehicle, after deputies responded to a vehicle in a ditch in the W5500 of County H, Town of New Glarus. Fuchs sustained an injury in the crash but declined EMS. He was eastbound on County H when he attempted to turn onto 2nd Street. There was fresh pea gravel on the road and Fuchs' vehicle slid through the intersection and into the northeast ditch. There was no apparent damage to the vehicle and was left at the scene. Fuchs was released pending court.

On Sunday:

• Andrew W. Knudson, 30, Monticello, sustained injuries but declined treatment in a motorcycle vs. deer accident that occurred in the N9500 block of County O, New Glarus Township. Knudson was southbound when a deer ran into the roadway and hit his motorcycle. Knudson reported he put the bike on its side after hitting the deer and skidded across the roadway for a distance causing him to be ejected from the bike. He was wearing a helmet and eye protection and the bike was removed from the scene by Knudson.

• Dale C. Schroeder, 60, Belleville, received non-life-threatening injuries after being ejected from his motorcycle in the W6600 block of Wis. 39, New Glarus Township. Schroeder was eastbound when a deer ran into the roadway. He attempted to avoid hitting the deer and entered the south ditch where the motorcycle overturned ejecting him and his passenger. The passenger reported no injuries. Schroeder was transported via New Glarus First Response for treatment of his injuries. Both occupants were wearing helmets and eye protection. The bike was moderately damaged and removed from the scene by Schroeder's son.



Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - On Friday:

• Argyle Fire Department and Argyle EMS were alerted to a one-vehicle rollover accident on Wis. 78, Argyle Township, at 1:45 a.m. Upon arrival, emergency responders and law enforcement could not locate a driver or occupants at the scene. The 2004 Chevrolet truck was towed from the scene, and the accident remains under investigation.

• Colin P. Rogness, 39, Monmouth, Ill., was uninjured in a deer vs. vehicle accident that occurred on U.S. 151, Belmont Township, at 9:01 p.m. The vehicle was moderately damaged.
