MONROE - On Tuesday, Feb. 19:

• Drivers Harvey L. Voegeli, 54, Monroe, and Brandon L. Rudisill, 35, Winslow, were taken to the Monroe Clinic ER for treatment of injuries they sustained when their vehicles collided in the W7500 block of Wisconsin 11 in the Town of Cadiz. Deputies, Browntown First Response and Monroe EMS responded to the scene at 4:27 a.m. Voegeli was westbound when he lost control on the ice-covered road. The vehicle spun around, facing east. Rudisill was eastbound when he collided with the rear of Voegeli's vehicle, causing it to land against a tree in the north ditch. It was severely damaged. Rudisill's vehicle came to rest in the north ditch and was very severely damaged. Both were towed. Icy road conditions, strong cross winds and low visibility were significant contributing factors in the accident.

• Nickolas Aaron Hawkins, 19, Monroe, was injured but declined medical treatment following a semi vs. pickup crash at 5:15 a.m. on Wis. 69 just north of Franklin Road in the Town of Clarno. Hawkins was southbound when he tried to slow down and lost control on the ice- and snow-covered road. His pickup truck slid into the northbound lane and collided with a semi tanker driven by Michael R. Hybarger, 57, Lena. Hybarger was uninjured. Hawkins' pickup was severely damaged and towed. The semi was towed from the scene, as both the tractor and tanker sustained moderate damages. Monroe police assisted at the scene.

• Jean M. King, 57, Shullsburg, and her passenger reported no injuries from a one-vehicle crash at 6:10 a.m. in the W6500 block of Wis. 11 in the Town of Monroe. King was eastbound when she lost control on the ice- and snow-covered road and veered into the ditch, hitting an embankment. The vehicle was moderately damaged and driven from the scene after it was towed out of the ditch.

• A 700-pound black beef steer owned by Schmidt Farms of Juda died on impact in a one-vehicle crash on County K west of Brunkow Road in the Town of Jefferson at 6:51 p.m. Shannon T. Settles, 51, Davis, was westbound when she collided with the animal. She and her two passengers were uninjured. The vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage and was towed.

• Richard A. Andrews, 34, Monroe, reported no injuries after his vehicle burst into flames in the N5500 block of County J in the Town of Adams. Deputies responded to the scene at 6:58 p.m. Andrews was southbound when he heard a loud pop and then saw flames coming from the engine compartment. He was able to get the vehicle off the road before it became fully engulfed in flames. It was very severely damaged and towed.

• Deputies responded to 13 vehicles in ditches through the Green County area. In each of these instances, there were no injuries or damages.
