Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 2:30 p.m. Monday in the N3500 block of County N. Deputies report a vehicle driven by David A. Wyss, 69, Monroe, pulled away from a stop sign and collided with a vehicle driven by Sharon M. Nafzger, 69, Monticello. Nafzger and a passenger, Myrtle A. Thorp, 83, Monticello, sustained injuries and were taken to the Monroe Clinic. Wyss was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign and released pending court. Nafzger's vehicle was towed. Wyss' vehicle received minor damage.

• No one was injured in a farm tractor accident at about 5:30 p.m. Monday on Puritan Road east of Fiedler Road in Albany township, Deputies report Jason L. Svendsen, 28, Argyle, was driving a tractor pulling a liquid manure spreader when the manure spreader jack knifed, went into a ditch and came to rest against a large tree. Svendsen was not injured. Puritan Road was closed for several hours while a towing service removed the manure spreader. The spreader and tractor received moderate damage.

• No one was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 8 p.m. Monday in the W8800 block of County C. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Dorothy A. Olson, 72, Darlington, left the road, went down an embankment and hit a fence due to snow on the road. The vehicle received moderate damage and was towed.

• No one was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 9:30 p.m. Monday in the W2000 block of Brooklyn-Albany Road. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Michael T. Sauer, 30, Albany, struck a patch of ice and hit a snow bank and overturned. The vehicle received extensive damage and was towed.

• A vehicle driven by Scott M. Fields, 29, Brodhead, collided with a deer at abut 11:30 p.m. Sunday in the W800 block of County E. The vehicle received minor damage.

• A vehicle driven by Christine K. Nipple, 44, Argyle, collided with a deer at about 2:30 p.m. Monday on County C east of Jordan Center Road. The vehicle received moderate damage.

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - No one was injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 5:30 p.m. Monday on West Mound Road in Belmont township. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Lauren D. Gilbertson, 32, Platteville, rear-ended a vehicle driven by Alan C. Kemke, 43, Platteville, due to slippery road conditions. The vehicles received minor damage.

• A vehicle driven by Virginia L. McGowan, 48, Blanchardville, hit a deer at about 6:15 a.m. Monday on County F in Blanchard township. The vehicle received moderate damage.
