Traffic Accidents: December 24, 2011

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Shelly M. Ellsworth, 48, Monroe, reported at 5:08 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, that she collided with a deer on Wisconsin 81 east of Hiawatha Road in the Town of Jordan. She was uninjured and able to drive the vehicle from the scene of the crash.

• Ronald C. Kipfer, 59, Argyle, was transported by ambulance to the Monroe Clinic ER after he was injured in a two-vehicle hit-and-run reported at 6:16 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, on Wis. 81 at Jordan Center Road in the Town of Jordan. Kipfer was driving westbound on Wis. 81 when an eastbound vehicle sideswiped him and continued in an unknown direction. Kipfer's vehicle was severely damaged and towed from the scene.



Rock County Sheriff

JANESVILLE - Charmin Stevens, 44, Albany, was transported to Mercy Hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a two-vehicle accident reported at 8:23 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, on West Wisconsin 14 near North Harvest View Road in the Town of Janesville. Stevens' 2001 Pontiac Aztek reportedly crossed the centerline and struck the rear tires of a propane trailer pulled by Timothy Johnson, 40, Burlington. Stevens was pinned in the vehicle as a result of the crash and eventually extricated by the Janesville Fire Department. Johnson was uninjured in the crash, and no propane was released from his trailer. Authorities say speed and alcohol do not appear to have been factors in the accident.

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - Taylor M. Davis, 16, Darlington, was transported to Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County with non-life threatening injuries after a one-vehicle rollover reported at 8:02 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, on County F in the Town of Darlington. Reports indicate she lost control of the vehicle while trying to negotiate a curve, veering across the opposing lane of traffic, hitting a fence on the other side of the road and overturning. The vehicle was severely damaged and towed from the scene.

• Ivan J. Gobeli, 77, Monroe, reported at 8:47 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, that he hit a deer on Wisconsin 11 in the Town of Benton.
