Jeffrey D. Joy, 49, Monona, sustained minor injuries in an accident at about 8:30 p.m. Thursday at a garage in the W6500 block of Karric Lane, Monroe Township. Reports indicate Joy went to start his girlfriend's vehicle that was parked in front of the garage. The vehicle was equipped with a manual transmission and was still in gear. Joy was only sitting halfway in the vehicle, with the driver's door open when he started the vehicle. The vehicle lurched forward and went partially through the closed garage door. The driver's door struck the side of the garage and pinned him between the door and the vehicle. The vehicle sustained moderate damage without airbag deployment. The garage door sustained severe damage.
