New Glarus Police

NEW GLARUS - Maria Dalia Sanchez Shelton, 62, Monticello, was arrested for operating while intoxicated, failure to maintain control of a vehicle and driving without a license following a one-vehicle accident at about 8:30 p.m. Aug. 9 in the 1400 block of Wisconsin 69. She was released pending court.

Green County Sheriff

MONROE - Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at about noon Friday on Wis. 81 at Trotter Road in Adams township. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Steven Christensen, 56, Monroe, was slowing down for a vehicle ahead and was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Nolan Wiegel, 25, Argyle. Two passengers in Christensen's vehicle, Harvey Bauman, 50, and Howard Jubeck Jr., 55, both of Monroe, reported injuries but declined medical treatment at the scene.

n One person was injured in a one-vehicle accident at about 3:15 p.m. Sunday in the W6900 block of Highpoint Road in Washington township. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Sandra L. Grossen, 57, Monticello, swerved to miss another vehicle, left the road and overturned. Grossen was taken to Monroe Clinic for injuries. The vehicle received extensive damage and was towed.

n Brian W. Spradlin, 21, Freeport, was arrested for driving while intoxicated and driving too fast for conditions following a one-vehicle accident at about 2:45 a.m. Saturday in the W8000 block of County P. Deputies report Spradlin's vehicle failed to negotiate a curve, left the road and hit some brush. Spradlin was released pending court. The vehicle received extensive damage and was towed.

Lafayette County Sheriff

DARLINGTON - No one was injured in a two-vehicle accident at about 3:45 p.m. on Furnace Hill Road in Willow Springs township. Deputies report a vehicle driven by Lyle J. Schwartz, 77, Darlington, failed to stop at a stop sign and pulled into the path of a vehicle driven by Anthony J. Walker, 28, Darlington. Walker's vehicle hit Schwartz's vehicle. The vehicles were towed from the scene. The Darlington Fire Department, Darlington Police Department and Rural Medical Ambulance assisted at the scene.

n A vehicle driven by Emily A. Hastings, 17, Darlington, hit a deer at about 1:45 a.m. Thursday on Wis. 78 in Wiota township. The vehicle received moderate damage.

n A vehicle driven by Michele Clara Vasquez, 31, Chicago, hit a deer at about 1 p.m. Friday on Lake Road in Argyle township.
